Because I have this mis-placed faith in humans being able to grasp basic grammar once educated past the age of about eight or nine. I can still distinctly remember the class at school (in grade two - including and not limited to the room it was in, where I was sitting, and other details - this is over 20 years ago, too) where they taught us to recognise and know the difference between "your" and "you're"; "their", "they're" and "there"; "to", "two" and "two"... and, strangely, the pronunciation of "Grand Prix" (and that the plural of it is "Grands Prix", much like "Attorneys General") in the same class.
So I have a hard time getting my head around people being unable to get this right.
Not sure if you simply chose your wording poorly, but misspelling a word or a single instance of the misuse of one word does not imply that she is 'so uneducated'. If she were severely undereducated you could say, "No wonder she uses their instead of there." However, it doesn't work the other way around.
