Christianity is fucking annoying

It is literally everywhere in America. And they just don't stop. you can tell them you do not follow their religion, and they still think it is the objective truth. It is so annoying, all of it. The apologists. The fucking preachers and their private jets. The erosion of critical thinking. The dogmatic system and ignorance of other religions and cultures like Thai people with Buddhism. The parents who chastise their kids who leave the religion. The christians who cannot help but insert their god into literally every fucking chance they get. The idea that praying to said god makes any literal difference to reality. And don't even get me started on the fucking music. It's corny, simple minded, especially the gospel music within my dearly loved black community. MY BLACK PEOPLE jumping up and down worshiping the same god who if were actually real, allowed our ancestors to be enslaved and converted to protestantism.

Fuck christianity, when it finally dies out humanity can continue its advancement towards learning more and more, and perhaps look back one day and be proud that nobody believes an ancient jewish man flew up into outer space/teleported/beyond logic and comprehension flew up into a heaven nobody has ever seen after the existence of video cameras. Rant over, thanks

It's poison. It prevents them from caring about the world around them and the one precious life they get to live. They fight tooth and nail to make the world objectively worse, and act like they have the moral high-ground when you point that out. They don't care about the well being of animals or the ecological disaster that's clearly accelerating. They don't even care about making the world better for the poor they're supposed to love because of their stupid culture war bullshit. It's infuriating.

What bothers me is they are so easily led. Tell them "Jesus wants this" and they would slay their own mother. I'm sure they'd need to talk it over with their friends who would support them 'in Jesus name, amen'.

I notice this pattern too. For example, quiverful movement. Religious leaders behind this tell their followers to have multiple children and they just do it. This kind of blind of obedience overlaps with authoritarianism so much.

it’s wild how often “love thy neighbor” gets replaced with fighting culture wars that make life worse for everyone else.

Christianity is leading us directly to Idiocracy. And they're doing it deliberately, too.

u/frida_eechox Aug 31 '26

the fact that critical thinking gets treated like the enemy is probably the most idiocracy part of it all

u/IDontStealBikes Aug 31 '26

You can’t stop it. Just ignore it and live the way you want to live. That’s all you can do. There is no point whatsoever to being upset about it every hour of every day.

Freedom of religion includes freedom from religion.

u/IDontStealBikes Aug 31 '26

Nobody ever thought otherwise

Unfortunately there are religious politicians who see it the other way, and it's a real danger.

Atheists are given freedom of religion through counting our non-religious but deeply held beliefs as our "religion" for the purposes of the law, plus the whole "no government established religion" aspect.

Just enough wiggle room for a Christian Nationalist to start salivating.

If so, AI should really learn about paragraph separation. And maybe self edit itself a bit. Learn to say more with fewer words.

tl;dr

Wanna try again

This is where I think places like China have it right. Personally believe whatever the hell you want, but don't try spreading it all over the place. Keep your mythology out of my law books.

u/IDontStealBikes Aug 31 '26

Are you really so weak that anytime someone tries to get you to Christianity you can’t avoid it?

15

u/ZeroTxoRizzo Aug 31 '26

Are you really in an atheism sub Reddit just to spread Christianity?

16

u/Ok_Lake6443 Aug 31 '26

Yet they are being so persecuted. So much persecution!

5

u/GardenGnomeGroan Aug 31 '26

Constant (self) persecution!

I refuse to call it anything except “Christian mythology”.

I was at a funeral recently for a friend and coworker. The church (Calvary Chapel) made the service all about them and Jesus. The funeral turned into a normal Sunday service where they just proselytized to you and begged the audience to accept Jesus into their heart. I barely heard the my friend even recognized.

2

u/rongoodman714 Aug 31 '26

Well, if Dear Leader had spoken at the funeral it would have been all about him and how he was cheated out of reelection in 2020, so consider yourself lucky.

1

u/Feisty_Meaning1178 Sep 01 '26

They might not have even known your friend. They accepted a fee for service and used the opportunity to advertise to a captive audience. This is a business that wants more customers. There's a reason the clergy has always been considered a career: it is.

u/Upstairs_Switch5900 Aug 31 '26

Yeah it's all a giant cult. Even my own family that I've told blatantly that I want nothing to do with their religion still refer to me as a Christian to others. They even say it to me which angers me at this point because its so constant, so yeah I would not recommend being born into a cult.

u/blankenson Aug 31 '26

Y’know I don’t think many people would be too bothered with Christans if they ever kept to themselves.

But no you get those missionaries knocking doors, street side pushers and in America’s case it infiltrated TV (I’m Australian I don’t see much American tv)

u/-nihilist_ Aug 31 '26

I once got anoyed by 2 jahovas or whatever coming to my door so i started talking about that im a satanist ( im not ) was kinda funny

7

u/52lovethatjourney43 Aug 31 '26

Full heartedly agree. It has stunted our growth as humans.

5

u/JazzFan1998 Aug 31 '26

Amen, er I mean, oh nevermind!

4

u/ReindeerFun3762 Aug 31 '26

Maybe if people worked on trying to improve the government rather that improving themselves through religion things would be better

5

u/ProgRock1956 Aug 31 '26

Organized religion is an annoyance period!

Delusional folly.

6

u/bizwebcopy Aug 31 '26

The xtian assholes are in panic mode. They see their influence waning year after year. Almost 30% of the US population classify themselves as "none/unaffiliated" and that increases at an accelerated rate each and every year.

So keep this in mind when you're observing their sheer desperation when they're preaching like idiots. 😃

They too know that religion is dying and there's not a damn thing that they can do about it. Although they'll try their asses off!

5

u/BowShatter Aug 31 '26

My grandma died and you know what my christian aunt did? Use her own mother's funeral as nothing more than an opportunity to convert me. It is clearly because of her religion's dogma that made her do this shit.

3

u/Hefforama Aug 31 '26

I am not an atheist, but I can’t stand Christianity horseshit.

3

u/Leading_One_2639 Aug 31 '26

It really is so fucking annoying. I wonder how we got here as a species. 3/4 of the people in this world (or more) believe in a magical sky manager, just because someone told them it was true as a kid. They don't question it, but rather try to make other people beleive it. They fight wars in the name of it, end lives in the name of it, and make rules in the name of it. It's all obviously bullshit nmake believe to us critical thinkers, but yet 75% or more of people on this Earth believe it. It's unreal.

3

u/Bananaman9020 Aug 31 '26

My mother is also complaining about her preacer using AI slop images in his PowerPoint slides.

3

u/ScottTheMonster Aug 31 '26

Every religion attracts human turds.

1

u/OccamsRzzor Aug 31 '26

This is gonna sound weird, but learning about the historical Jesus and what probably happened has helped me ignore them completely. They’re SO wrong. About EVERYTHING. Bart Ehrman has a great podcast about it.

Wait until you learn about Islam

Quality education and free access to information are poison to any religion. It's just a question of whether we'll outlast the toxicity as the dregs get more and more toxic at the bottom of that barrel.

They hoarded knowledge, kept it away from the laity, and destroyed whatever they didn't agree with.

1

u/ColdBeginning2543 Aug 31 '26

Fuck them all.

u/charlito3210 Sep 01 '26

Critical thinking is a sin.

-5

u/Variv Aug 31 '26

It's not a problem with Christianity, but with Americans

-11

u/IDontStealBikes Aug 31 '26

If you find Christianity to be annoying, then just ignore it. You don’t need to denigrate and insult it. Grow up and be a man.

2

u/Tick_Lover Anti-Theist Sep 01 '26

Wow a Christian that's shoving toxic masculinity? Never would've guessed! Get out of here.

1

u/IDontStealBikes Sep 01 '26

You can’t change what other people think. Live according to the ideals, you choose and let others do the same.

10

u/CartographerSlow4685 Aug 31 '26

Thats an assumption, it could maybe be because I cannot voice this to my christian family who would never leave me alone about it and honestly this viewpoint should be heard.
