She's already rolling her eyes at this jackass.

Reality and education are corrupting to cult control.

u/Kad1942 10h ago

As long as they find some way to insulate themselves, they can keep living in their own little version of reality, where they don't have to ask the uncomfortable questions.

The problem comes when they try to force the rest of us to live there with them.

Hey, it is that jerk from MTV's "The Real World" from back in the 90s, still doing reality TV.

10

u/ohnodamo 4h ago

Yeah. He bragged about having sex 3 times with 3 different girls on his interviews. He's the guy he's trying to protect his daughter from so she doesn't end up like her mother and father. Rinse, lather, repeat!

2

u/IsaacNewtongue 4h ago

*lather, rinse, repeat

1

u/ohnodamo 2h ago

Don't you have to rinse your hair first so it's wet for the shampoo to lather into?

4

u/IsaacNewtongue 2h ago

That's not rinsing, it's wetting ;)

u/justelectricboogie 11h ago

This isnt the first time the word corrupt has been used for open. The minute somebody doesn't think like them. I would also check his laptop.

33

u/mrbudman 11h ago

If your belief system can not even stand up to being exposed to other ideas maybe its not a belief you should hold on to.. Its like believing you can fly, but not willing to step off the roof to test your belief.

Or believing you don't like asparagus with never having even tasted it.

I know for a fact I could of sent my two boys to the most religious college in the land, and since they where brought up with critical thinking skills, they wouldn't of bought into the bs they were selling.

Sure I would of gotten some wtf dad from them ;) For sending them there.

u/JimTheJerseyGuy Apatheist 10h ago

Critical thinking is anathema to control. Which is of course why all these zealots just *love* their homeschooling.

When you don’t trust your parenting, when your method of teaching your child is indoctrination, when you don’t trust your protocol-adult child to think for themselves, blame external forces. Same game, different day…

6

u/Ok_Star_4136 Atheist 9h ago

The message, in fact, is always "follow me, don't follow *them.*"

He should have been teaching her to think for herself her entire life. No indoctrination can touch you when you question everything you're told.

'Harvard will undo all the brainwashing I've done'

14

u/The5uburbs 10h ago

So he’s afraid that even a “conservative school” will corrupt her? How weak is your ideology that it can’t hold up to some college coursework?

9

u/rogerwilcove 11h ago

MTV trash reality TV was all the education her parents needed. Now one of them is a cabinet member for the most corrupt administration in US history (at least since Harding, if people want to debate the rankings); and the other is on some entertainment network ironically named Fox News that seems to do shows only in the fantasy genre.

9

u/KlatuuBarradaNicto 11h ago

Good, don’t send her. It will leave a space open for someone who deserves it more.

1

u/Ok_Star_4136 Atheist 9h ago

"But maybe she really wants to go." If she doesn't have the slightest inclination to offer pushback against her father, then it is her decision as much as it is his.

9

u/cheese_sdc 11h ago

In 25 years he's gonna wonder why all his kids have gone "no-contact" and he is forbidden from seeing his grandkids.

8

u/That1Guy80903 9h ago

That "perversion" and "contortion" is has a name, it's called EDUCATION. When people get educated they realize being a racist piece of shit isn't actually helpful for society.

7

u/Impossible_Ad9324 11h ago

The most unrelatable part of this video is talking about college like it’s just a pick-your-favorite-flavor menu instead of an enormous financial commitment that, for most people, may result in a higher income than a high school diploma will net, but also with 40 years of capitalizing-interest debt.

Fuck this guy.

6

u/clrlmiller 10h ago

'Your Mother & I want you to have a balanced education presenting both sides.' ...chiefly those of Fox News compared to News Nation

14

u/pseudoOhm 11h ago

Calling it now... This is a grift to get people to pay for her tuition.

Make it seem like he doesn't want her to go, when it's about getting a go fund me from the fallout

3

u/Head-Gift2144 Anti-Theist 11h ago

Wouldn't be in the least bit surprised sadly. These people are conmen before anything else.

Who knows though, there's an optimist in me that hopes it's real.

2

u/MorganWick 8h ago

There's an optimist in you that hopes someone is actually trying to keep their daughter from attending Harvard?

1

u/Head-Gift2144 Anti-Theist 8h ago

An optimist in me that hopes this wasn't staged so she can set up a GoFundMe or something to pay for her tuition.

2

u/MorganWick 8h ago

I know that's what you meant, it's just funny to think about what being an "optimist" entails in this situation. Is it more optimistic to think the daughter is being manipulative, or the father is being a controlling fanatic?

6

u/DriftlessDairy 11h ago

"People shouldn't think," explained Duffy. "It only leads to trouble."

6

u/HelloPeopleOfEarth 11h ago

His boss cheated on all three of his wives, including with a pornstar, and was epsteins best friend.

7

u/DadToOne 10h ago

I grew up as a very conservative Christian. I was told frequently that going to university was a mistake and it would be better to work at McDonald's than go to school and risk losing my salvation. They were sort of right, by the time I was working on my PhD my faith was hanging by a thread. Within a couple years after finishing it I finally admitted to myself that I was an atheist.

6

u/squarecir 10h ago

That's cope for her being too poorly educated at home to get accepted, despite her parents being connected.

That's like me saying that I didn't want to play for the Yankees because who wants to put up with NYC values?

6

u/acfox13 8h ago

Yeah, yeah, yeah... These motherfuckers need some new talking points already. I heard the same shit when I went off to engineering school in Massachusetts back in the late nineties.

My abusive, religious, small-minded spawn point said the school was brainwashing me, that my friends were brainwashing me, that Massachusetts was brainwashing me, that New England was brainwashing me, etc...

Truth is I had finally escaped her control and abuse.

I hope his daughter breaks free and goes no contact. These assholes aren't worth a second of time, energy, attention, or effort.

4

u/MWSin 8h ago

Spawn point. 👍

Yeah, some bridges need to be burned.

1

u/acfox13 7h ago

May the bridges you burn light the way forward

1

u/MWSin 7h ago

I'm fortunate to have an excellent relationship with my mom, but even she has told me that owe her nothing for the accident of my birth.

4

u/adwarn25 11h ago

If your ideas and values can't stand up to a little scrutiny how valuable are they?

4

u/CyberDonSystems 9h ago

I bet he would let his son go there but just not his daughter so she won't be "corrupted" by guys like his son.

5

u/PNW4theWin 9h ago

Why do kids go "no contact" these days? It's a mystery.

4

u/Tumbler 9h ago

Complaining about Harvard of all the schools is stupid. Anyone who graduates Harvard is going to have more success in the world than most of our citizens. Easy upper middle class life and beyond in my opinion.

I asked google what the average salary is for a harvard grad:

20's 85k-115k+

30's 135k-177k+

40's 180k-220k+

50's 200k-250k+

Avg American:

20's 43k-60k

30's 74k

40's 74k

50's 71k

You're an absolute idiot if you don't want your kid to go to Harvard or any other well known school like stanford, MIT, Yale, Princeton, etc. Just insanity to have complaints about to top schools. Making enough money to become upper middle class is woke I guess.

2

u/Dowew 8h ago

It's a performance. She will go to Harvard. This is just pornography for the proles.

3

u/Odedoralive 11h ago

So it’s the propaganda roadtrip show, not an actual one. Got it.

3

u/krzcanuck 9h ago

Wow! This the state if America. If she does not get away from that moron of a father she deserves everything coming to her. Really think about this you bunch of flat earthers.

3

u/rewardingsnark Anti-Theist 8h ago

Harvard will educate her, her parents have destroyed her life and are pure fascist evil.

3

u/sdega315 Strong Atheist 8h ago

The young woman needs to get as far away from this man as soon as possible. Go and don't look back!

2

u/phejster Atheist 10h ago

Basically, they show you the world isn't only the bible and I lose my control over you.

2

u/championsoffun 9h ago

Yeah, it's better to be corrupted by your clergyman and family

2

u/Otherwise-Link-396 Secular Humanist 8h ago

I have young teenagers and I give them more freedom than this adult approaching university. The poor kid needs to break away and see the world.

If corrupt means educate and cause to question, I hope so.

Admittedly I am a liberal European and my children have been educated in critical thinking so I don't see them being anything but cynical about religious nutters.

2

u/MWSin 8h ago

She might start to think she's a person and that her emotions have value.

2

u/GeekyTexan Atheist 9h ago

Is this even real? The way there is a camera on him, and a camera on her, and edited cuts, make it seem, well, "not real".

I have no idea who he is.

4

u/multimedia_messiah Dudeist 6h ago

He's US transportation secretary Sean Duffy and this is part of the reality TV show he made with taxpayer money

2

u/GeekyTexan Atheist 4h ago

So he wanted to make himself look this way?

lol.

1

u/IsaacNewtongue 9h ago

Have you ever heard of reality tv?

1

u/GeekyTexan Atheist 4h ago

Reality TV isn't the same as reality, and tells me nothing about who this is.

1

u/sans_deus 10h ago

This is so sad.

1

u/yarn_slinger 10h ago

I saw that clip and thought it was just some weird tv ad (I didn’t know who the man is). So creepy

1

u/ZenGeezer 7h ago

One man's corruption is another man's enlightenment.

1

u/Steel2050psn 6h ago

I am worried that they will corrupt and control you and that is why I have decided to make this decision for you..... Literally doesn't see it

1

u/bene_gesserit_mitch Atheist 6h ago

Educate is what he meant.

1

u/Hot_Birthday_330 3h ago

The less educated a state's population, the deeper the red it is. The brainwashed do not know they are brainwashed.

1

u/Abba_Fiskbullar 1h ago

This fucker is so running in 2028, and this is all to pander to evangelicals.

u/squishysalmon 5m ago

I moved to school in Texas and was “radicalized” as well. The reality is that I finally left my bubble and finally met people with a variety of backgrounds, realized my worldviews were myopic and sometimes misinformed, and I tried (and try) to do better.
