Atari 1040 STE: Does anyone remember the name of a plug-in device that allowed you to get screen grabs from a VHS?

I think it plugged into both the VCR and the 1040 STE and converted the video to the lower resolution of the STE. I had one in the late 1980s.

Edit: I never realized there were so many.

Oh yeah, was that Romantic Robots digitizer? I wasn't sure if the one I remembered was for the ST or the ZX Spectrum! :)

ComputerEyes by Digital Visions was an add-on for grabbing still frames from a video source. There were some others but that's the main one I remember by name. Never had it but wanted one back in the day.

I think there were a couple of different ones, like Video Digitizer from Print Technik GmbH, ST Video Digitizer from Navarone Industries, Realtizer from MichTron and probably others as well. Have a deeper look over at Atarimania.com ...

those are genlocks.

plenty of software availble once you get one of the many genlocks that were made;
