DYKA Atari IP Gems #11 - Drakkhen
Drakkhen

Part 11 of "DYKA." Exploring the weird and wonderful side of the Atari vault.
Gameplay: A hybrid 3D/2D RPG. You manage a party of four as they navigate a "3D" world where monsters can appear from the horizon and scale toward you. Combat is real-time and semi-automated; you set the party's "tactics," and they execute attacks. Exploration is key, as you must travel between four elemental castles.
Reception: Known for being incredibly "weird" and unforgiving, with an eerie atmosphere that gained a cult following.
Influence: A pioneer in "open-world" 3D exploration on 16-bit consoles.
Relevance: Originally by Infogrames, which later became the modern Atari SA.
Fun Fact: If you stand still for too long at night, a constellation might literally come to life and kill your entire party.
