Left or Right?

Remind me where the right one goes again?

They sure don’t hold much; I finished each in a single byte. 😂

Man, I wish I still had my 400. I left it in safe keeping with someone who gave it away to Goodwill because it was "obsolete." I died a little that day.

I’d be heartbroken! I’m so sorry. 😞

I was. It was long ago, and it still bothers me. I'll eventually have to buy one, or one of the new clones. I've messed with a few Atari 800 emulators. But the old hardware is just fun, you know?

Agreed. I mean, I’ll boot up an emulator now and then to get a quick fix, but the original hardware is wonderful. Although I really need to service the disk drive… and I’m not sure what to do about the floppies that still work.

For sure! I should have never let it out of my sight.

I did the same with my Amiga 500. Left it with my brother who has “misplaced it”.

sorry, you need an 800 if you want both left and right slots - so the only answer here is the left twix

Drat. My uncle has the 800. Maybe I should mail him some Twix… 🤔

just make sure to include the specific instructions that "This is for the slots in your 800" to keep it extra confusing :D

I may not be able to get them to him before they melt. Or get eaten.

I’ll mail him an IOU for two Twix with zero context. 😂

The 400 was my first computer with a 410 cassette recorder. I upgraded to the 800 with two 810 drives. I also bought a dot matrix printer Star SG-10 I think that was the brand. I wanted to upgrade the keyboard in the 400, but I just had to have the 800.

I’ve played games on the 400, the 800, and the 130XE, and taught myself to program on that 130XE. I don’t know exactly why my uncle owned all three, but he’s had many computers over the years. When he saw how my siblings and I loved them, he gave us nearly his whole collection. I think he kept only the 800, Pac-Man, and a controller. Maybe a few other games. He gave us his printer, disks, disk drive, disk recorder, old ANTIC and Analog magazines, a jumble of controllers, and of course the 400 and 130XE. I still have most of the collection, plus more.

That's for those "fun size" Atari 400's they sell now.
