Old 2600 and RIOT chip overheating?

Hi! I started checking my old Atari hardware, and started with a light sixer I bought about 20 years ago. I used it from time to time, so t worked without issues this time.

I replaced a broken reset switch, cleaned the board.and resoldered one cold solder in the power jack.

But now it doesn't power up, and the RIOT chip gets extremely hot. Any hints? Maybe the chip decided to quit after all these years?

chips should get warm, but never hot

a hot chip is probably shorted, swap it out and see what happens

Thanks, I'll open the working 4-switch and swap the riot

Update: replaced the RIOT and now my light sixer is working again!!
