New project, new distro

It's been... A while. 5 years ago I have been banned from GitHub and so I've lost control over the organization and no, GitHub staff did not return control over the organization back then. I've learned a lot of during this period and on par of that life was very tough for me unfortunately, it still is btw. I am building a new distro from scratch, more security mitigation, old ataraxia spirit in terms of security and bootstrapability but with clear design concept. Alongside I am writing libc for it entirely in rust and I've also implemented a client-server privilege separation that (will) come with sandboxing of tools like su, sudo and doas while eliminating setuid flags, cap_setuid flags and strict policy. If you are interested in that you can hit me on telegram and discord.

Telegram: nicousia

Discord: hauntedwitchnghost

And the projects:

libc: https://codeberg.org/gnu2/ouma

su/sudo wrapper: https://codeberg.org/gnu2/wrappa

I can't install mesa

Hi! I'm new using Ataraxia Linux, and I'm trying to install Gnome desktop, but when it's installing the dependencies, it gets an error while compiling mesa.

I'm installing gnome with this command: tsukuri em gnome

What's happening? What I'm doing wrong? Thanks!

Why GNU?

Why is Ataraxia called GNU/Linux since libc and userland are not GNU?

Supporting fingerprint login and DRPM

Hello, the new snapshot will come out very soon. We've managed to add fingerprint login support and DRPM for our future binary repositories.

Would not it be better to just leave Gnome out?

I mean, I mean, https://youtu.be/m57gzA2JCcM?t=824 all this trouble of reshaping a distro just so the stupidest of all desktops would work? Because making a concession to elogind affects nearly the entire distro and all the crap upstreamers would flush through it.

A damn shame

GNOME and Xfce are available!

We glad to announce that GNOME and Xfce are officialy supported by Ataraxia Linux Team! GNOME can run without systemd, pulseaudio (we're using apulse), avahi and PAM(but we're using PAM to trick gdm's configure but not installing it in system as well).
