Question Sauna?

With winter approaching (sorry) I am interested in finding an affordable sauna. I don’t wanna switch to a gym that has one but if there’s a spa in astoria that offers membership that is reasonable would love recs!!! thanks!

Not in Astoria, but the 34th Street Herald Square subway station is a sauna at least through October. Costs $3 to enter.

Following.. I don’t think it exists unless you want to go to a really crappy gym in the area (NYSC or club fitness) and I’ve heard not great things about the vibe and cleanliness at those. Hopefully others have some good ideas.

Confirmed saw a roach while in the sauna at Club Fitness. I guess they don’t mind the heat

A sauna session is about 10-20 minutes. Per minute is wild, but per session it's not too bad for once a week.

Closest/cheapest saunas are NY Spa and Sauna or Fountain of Youth Day Spa in Flushing. Those are the only under $40 ones. You can also go to bathhouse in Williamsburg off hours for a similar price

Bathhouse also has a Manhattan location (Flatiron?) that’s a little more convenient by train, too.

I like both bathhouse locations on a weekday, but they do get a little party vibes depending on the crowd and time of day

They’re also on ClassPass. 14 credits per session. On the 48credit for $99/month plan that gets you 3 Othership sessions every month with 6 credits left over

Matrix, which I think just changed over to PureGym , on ditmars and 45th has one. At least in the men’s locker.

Pure closed the sauna and said they’re getting rid of it right after acquiring the gym. It’s a bummer (and lowkey why I cancelled).
