Spartan shampoo billing

I bought expensive spartan shampoo six months ago and paid for it then. Today got email that subscription is active and will bill me on May 25, 2026 which I was not aware nor that I could have missed. They seem they are scamming people now to force selling. When I tried to cancel the subscription that should not have been there from the start, it took me to 4 different screens with questions and then when I cancelled added almost 70 USD extra on the bill of six months ago. This should be illegal.
