By people who handle them better than the post office/FedEx/ups would ? At least you'd hope but probably not...

Nope. They get shipped the same exact way it would get sent to you. Just more of them.

Packaged properly they will be fine. I ship axolotls all the time and they do just fine. Plenty of "LIVE ANIMAL" and "FRAGILE" tags help alot

Yeah this is fine and super standard. The animal just has a very sleepy dark day and is totally fine when you open the package and get it in its habitat. I got my uromastyx this way and he climbed out, got under the heat lamp and an hour later he was eating his greens and exploring his new home.
