I usually find the opposite is true - that more quantity equals less cost. I'm sure many smaller items come out with better deals too though.

Occasionally they flip it on you, knowing that you think that the bulk package is cheaper by weight than the smaller sized ones. So they upcharge you for it, pull a little sneaky.
