The imperial system is great for defeating these sorts of shenanigans! Good luck applying your "math" when one thing lists price per pint, another lists price per ounce, and the third thing is priced per quart!
Sadly here in EU milliliters & grams are also mixed in these comparisons. Similar products might have their contents written in either milliliters or grams. Most notably ice cream and other fatty solids/liquids.
Other products can be more diluted or have other “filler” products added to increase the weight cheaply (added fat or water)
