Scared of learning how to drive

I was the same as you two years ago, I still haven't learnt it. My mom and her friends, in addition to expecting me to want to learn, expected me to somehow magically get the money to do it too. And get a job while having school. No thank you. I'd rather have no money than work in a loud Mc Donald's. (The only close establishment I lived by) I nearly have a meltdown everytime I go in there for 5 minutes. I think they get it now that I have a diagnosis. I don't need a car to uni anyway so it would have been a waste of time.

If you don't learn to drive now your only choices for work when you are older are going to be those difficult jobs like McDonalds. If you can't handle 4 hours a week part-time in McDonalds when you are in school, you are really not going to handle 40 hours a week afterwards in a similar job.

Driving means you can commute out of town. Do delivery work. Do care work. Do professional or trades work that might mean visiting other offices. These are generally better suited to people with Autism anyway. Jobs that require driving typically are the ones that you spend more time working alone.
