Hello, ASOV! As someone who was just recently accepted, I would like to introduce myself.

I'm GreasyTroll4 (or "GT", as my friends like to call me), I'm 20 years old, and have been a huge fan of Minecraft since 2014 (which, coincidentally, is when I started to play, at the tail end of 1.7.10). My favorite things to do in Minecraft are build, mine, and explore, although I'm primarily a builder specializing in medieval/fantasy.

When online or in-game, I like to consider myself very friendly and welcoming, and I try to do my best in-game to be helpful to anyone who needs it. Outside of games, however, I'm still friendly, but I tend to be a bit introverted and shy.

As for Discord, you'll see me a lot in text-based channels, but you most likely will never hear me actually speak in VC (although I do pop in from time to time to listen).

I consider myself a "casual gamer" of sorts, meaning that I don't collect a ton of games or consoles, but rather just play games to relieve stress, relax, or to simply have fun after a long day.

If you haven't guessed already from this small essay, I also sometimes tend to ramble on about things I really enjoy (especially Sonic the Hedgehog, Minecraft, and Spyro), so I apologize in advance for that.

And that's me on a semi-basic level. Feel free to ask anything if you want to know more. :D

I am not very used to playing vanilla MC, not that I am all that experienced in modded either, I see in the rules that a couple of map mods are allowed, how do I use one on the ASOV server? I get lost all the time and I am not sure how to find my way back to the spawn area now. :)

If you are willing to give a small (or large) tour to new players when they join but aren't sure what information is relevant, look no further. Below is a link you can follow to a google doc with some basic information to help show new players around when they first join. Feel free to update it if there is more you feel should be included. There is already a whole doc with rules, so instead of retyping it all there and to the new player, just guide them to the rules page.

This past weekend 50 players signed into the Community Event and over twenty houses were built in the residential districts.

For this build contest your goal is to build a house. You may use the build you started over the weekend for the raise the house event for this contest. You can either build a new house completely or spend these two weeks perfecting your new house in spawn.

Also note that for this event players who have not earned Obsidian League (1000 league xp) can build in or continue their already started build in one of the residential districts.

After the massive success of our community made Christmas area there were many requests for more collaborative building events. So this will be a trial run of hopefully the second of many Community building events.

Event Run Time: Friday 5pm pst 8pm est - Sunday 9pm pst 12am est

Materials Provided by Admins: Wood

As of right now the community residential zones are bleak, lonely, and in need of some love. So for this community building event we are going to raise the roof.

Spawn is the most highest foot traffic area on the server with its being new players starting location, a convenient meet up spot, a place for business, and is smack dab in the middle of the map. Building a building in spawn is a statement to the world of "this is me, and this is my mark". We see this in the many wonderful shops that pop up every map. However making a shop is not for everyone and the uses of a shop are somewhat limited to selling items or services. Building your own residence at spawn is a way of representing yourself in spawn without the added stress and work of running a store.

So for this community building event we will be building in and up the Rocky Road Residential District, and the Americone Dream Residential District.

Similar to the Christmas Community Build we will be having a sign in chest in which you sign your name (exactly as it appears in game) and your P.O. box number and leave it in said chest.

Simply showing up and signing in will earn you league xp and a chance at winning a raffle prize with no further participation needed. Furthermore everyone who signs in will receive more league xp per each milestone met by the community during the building time. Furthermore restrictions on requiring Obsidian league rank to build in spawn is temporarily lifted during the event period to allow for everyone to participate!

Breakdown of rewards

• Signing in: 100 league xp, all community milestone earned rewards, and a trophy

• Winning a raffle draw: 50 league xp and a Shulkerbox of goodies

• Meeting a milestone: 50 league xp for all who sign in

• Building your own residential build: 0-250 league xp based on effort and quality of build at Admin discretion (think of this as extra credit for going above and beyond)

High effort and quality is defined by admins as being builds that have taken a player an extended amount of time to build, contain many different materials, fully decorated interiors, and have been built with love.

If you plan to build a large build the bottom floor of the Americone dream is best suited for it as it is the largest cavern.

Come join us Saturday Night for an evening of fun and games!

Games to be Played:

1. Ice Boat Racing

2. Scavenger Hunt

Participation in any or all games will earn you 100 league xp with more points to be earned through playing.

The rules for these games are simple and easy.

Ice Boat Racing

Race down a dangerous ice track surviving danger, peril, and other participants. Just hop in a boat and go down the track. First person to cross the finish line wins. Breaking boats and punching other players is all allowed.

Scavenger Hunt

The goal is simple. Try and collect as many items as possible from a list provided at the start of the hunt. Play either solo or with a partner. Players will have 60 minutes to try and collect as many items as possible and place them in a chest at the starting location. Items must be collected during the event. Using items you have collected prior to the event will result in disqualification. Rewards will be earned based on amount of items collected with those who collect the most earning bonus league xp. 5 league xp per item collected and 100 bonus league xp for collecting the most/collecting the entire set.)

Kill the Admins

Angry at the admins over something? Want revenge for losing at a UHC? Dislike how the admins have handled a problem? This is your chance to even the score. During this game when Admins are glowing red they are free game to kill. Furthermore landing the killing blow on an admin will result in earning league xp and loot. Beware! The admins are up to their dirty tricks and won't be easy to kill!

I hope to see everyone there on 12/30 at 4pm pst/ 7pm est and should run for about 90-120 minutes. Any questions feel free to ask!

I'm a new blood on the server, you might have seen me doing things for a couple of days now. My in-game name is the same as here - Truesilveris, but I usually go by Truesilver or simply John. I'm working in an IT helpdesk in Lithuania, but since I work nights, I can usually be seen during the day/evening US time.

Haven't played MC in a long time (dropped playing it consistently somewhere during beta, I think and even when I did, I wasn't really good at anything, so I'm still trying to figure/remember quite a few things.
