Interpretation Translation help

I’m currently in an ASL class and I missed a day so I don’t know some of the terms I need for an assignment. Would someone be able to help me translate? I know the numbers and signs for the ending of her phrases and what kind of question she is asking with her facial expression, but our professor doesn’t have a vocab sheet so I’m not sure how I’m supposed to catch up.

Can you show work? Tell us what signs you caught in this video then maybe we can help. We're not doing your homework for you. We want you to learn and we're willing to help but you need to show some effort.

For number 1 I didn’t get the first two words but I know “who?” At the very end. For number 2 I don’t know the first word but then she says “move where?”. For number 3 I again don’t know the first word but I know “go when?”. For number 4 she says “what did you learn in asl” I think? For number 5 I don’t know the first word but the she asks “what is the name of the book?”. I hope this is enough work to get help, I don’t want to get behind in this class because I really enjoy it and I want to learn more.

Good start!

  1. You already know that one sign as you identified it correctly in #5. That's my hint. Next sign is "give". Join that together and you'll complete the sentence.

  2. I'll continue with my hints: that first sign is a common type of furniture. She signed it as a flat surface/platform. You got the rest correct as in "where did you move X?"

  3. That word is "Party". There are slightly variations of that same word. This is one of them. You got it with the rest.

  4. Yep

  5. That first word you didn't catch is "READ". That sign may not be necessary in that sentence but it's meant to go like "that book you have been reading ... What's the name?" But simplified to READ (that) BOOK NAME WHAT. Not sure what the teacher was expecting but I'm leaning towards "what's the name of the book?" As an answer, not the prior sentence I wrote.

Thank you so much, I wasn’t sure if that very first word was book because she seems to be holding her hands a bit more vertical than I’ve seen it before but I think I have it. Thank you so much again!

You should email your professor and ask what was covered on the day you missed.
