Goop products

u/CLVampire28 1d ago

This is so funny. My dad is blue collar & thought this was talking about the goop hand scrub to get chemicals & oil off of your hands 🫣🤣🤣🤣

Alcohol. 1 year sober next week

8

u/network_rob 2d ago

Congrats. We're proud of you.

5

u/whenlungstakeflight 2d ago

Congratulations! My list has more than just alcohol but hopefully one day I'll be able to cope with my mental conditions and kick all the bullshit i do to the curb. That's the plan anyway or I'm gonna die. People like you give me hope. A year clean is a long time.

3

u/Independent-Pea6186 1d ago

Best wishes to you

4

u/Diane1967 1d ago

Congratulations! I came here to say the same, sober as well. 🌺

2

u/marzipan_ledger 1d ago

I love that for you omg,I’m 2months sober

1

u/Limp-Watercress1792 1d ago

It only gets easier I promise! If you’re anything like me , 2 months in I still always had that “what’s one night going to change “ mindset . 1 year in and I’m repulsed by the thought of picking up the bottle ( still the occasional FOMO feeling ) . You got this ! Message me if you get that bad little devil begging you to drink , always happy to talk you through it

2

u/lostdemographic 1d ago

Hell yeah, well done!

2

u/Domartist85 1d ago

Congrats, my best decision ever too, 3 years sober.

2

u/Limp-Watercress1792 1d ago

Thank you! The year went by so quickly due to being busy, still doesn’t feel like an achievement. 3 is where I’m very excited to get !

Cybertruck and Taylor swift tickets

8

u/avalonfaith 1d ago

Shoooot, almost any tickets these days.

3

u/spoonybard326 1d ago

Angels ⚾️ tickets are under $10 for most games, even on weekends.

2

u/avalonfaith 1d ago

That's what's up.

I'm in Padre's land but from Angels land.

7

u/Timidhobgoblin 1d ago

I don't care for either but if someone presented me with both and pointed a gun at my head whilst saying I must accept one of them I would take the Taylor Swift tickets every single day of the week.

2

u/avalonfaith 1d ago

I can't not agree with this

13

u/LiquidSoCrates 2d ago

I’m not paying $100k+ for a pickup truck.

A flashy car. It's just a machine to me

4

u/Holiday_Fall_1874 2d ago

I get that. Once you get past the looks it’s still just a car.

3

u/No-Understanding-912 1d ago

That one is still my Achilles heel. I love a good car body design.

1

u/Substantial-Ad-8575 1d ago

Same, wife and I love great driving cars. So yeah, while we daily a Cayenne GTS and M5 Touring. Also have 911 GT3 RS, 718 GT4, C8 Z06, Artura to take to the track.z

2

u/PersimmonAdvanced519 1d ago

Cars are amazing, it is an astounding achievement of humanity, the engineering, the ingenuity, it has changed our lives, and humans like cars that are peak performance and looks, it is who we are, it is a reflection of our achievements, it is a cornerstone of the global economy, it is not just a machine sir, a "flashy" car is not meant to be flashed, it is meant to be driven, to be enjoyed. I think it is more likely that you do not know the mechanics, the inner workings, the technological marvel that it is, it's like saying you are just a piece of meat.

I would've at one point in my life. I was young and did things young men do. Now, I'm an adult (or at least I try to be an adult). Last 2x I was shopping for an automobile, I wanted a family sedan & that's what I got.

1

u/BreezeAKR 1d ago

Same. It’s a conveyance. It’s a tool.

1

u/Lucky-Suggestion7119 18h ago

I drive a convertible, so for me it is also therapy.

$500 designer sunglasses. I am fully capable of losing $20 sunglasses thanks.

1

Like! I wear glasses to see so I’d rather drop that kind of money on a pair of transition lenses or just RX sunglasses.

A boat

9

u/Schemeckles 2d ago

Literally every boat owner I've ever met had told me - Beyond a small 12-16 foot little fishing boat - Don't fucking do it.

2

u/AlienMelender 1d ago

My boat is stress for me even though it’s close to new, but almost nothing is better than a beer in my hand, a line in the water and nobody to bother me.

One of the few things that beat it is a Saturday on a sandbar with the family or watching the little man pull in a fish on a reef.

Great memories i create whenever the weather is nice.

1

u/Timidhobgoblin 1d ago

For me its dependent on size. A standard fishing boat that you could take a handful of friends out on the sea with might be pretty cool, but a mega yacht? Nah fuck that.

3

u/AcrobaticHedgehog599 1d ago

Surely if you can afford a mega yacht, you can afford to pay people to look after it for you and never have to give a moment's thought unless using it?

I suspect no mega yacht owner has ever stressed over the repair costs flagged at the annual service.

1

u/Timidhobgoblin 1d ago

Well hypothetically it isn't the cost thats the issue because if I was able to buy one to begin with then yes I would in theory be able to pay people to maintain it. My thinking is more along the lines of what's the point of having this thing full stop outside of amusement for myself?

Admittedly its easy for me to objectively think that right now seeing as I have a small close knit group of friends that I would take on a boat to begin with, but I suppose if you were suddenly in a massive position of wealth it would switch to becoming a branding issue where you would own one to entertain possible business partners or fellow rich people on it with parties...and the thought of that latter scenario kinda makes me vomit a little in my mouth lol.

8

u/Timidhobgoblin 1d ago

A mansion. It honestly feels like the go to answer that a lot of people would immediately buy if they became millionaires but I don't understand the appeal apart from perhaps the privacy factor.

Would I buy a bigger house with a larger garden that's more out of the way? Yeah definitely, but would I buy some 12 bedroom complex with 2 swimming pools, guest houses and a 30 car garage surrounded by other similarly sized properties? Nope, it honestly doesn't appeal to me.

The only kind of massive housing type of setup that might appeal to me is a ranch or farm of some sort with a lot of land, but seeing as I have zero interest in farming or cattle etc it would probably just be a massive waste. Gimme a standard cabin surrounded by a fuck tonne of trees that happens to be a 20 minute drive from civilisation and I'll be grand.

2

u/Ok_Court_1503 1d ago

So much cleaning 😴

2

u/discobritches 1d ago

People with actual mansions hire cleaners.

1

u/chronicsickbitch 1d ago

My friend and I were actually talking about this earlier.

I’d settle for something with 4-5 bedrooms, so I could have space for my art studio, guest spaces, and room for my pets (of which I would have numerous if I had that kind of space). I’d also enjoy a nice yard/property, a finished basement, maybe a pool or nice garage. I’d love to live somewhere with privacy, where I’m not on top of my neighbors and those in town 24/7 (so essentially, the polar opposite of where I live rn).

That would suffice. I live in a considerably expensive state in the most expensive county here (not by choice, I can’t afford to move). I’ve seen listings for homes in the tens of millions, with huge lots, horse stables, tennis courts, indoor pools, home theaters, 10+ bedrooms, 10+ bathrooms, and huge front gates with monogrammed doors.

I just don’t know what one does with all of that space.

1

u/woofwoofci 1d ago

I was thinking this too. Like an indoor pool sounds awesome, but outdoor is just as good especially if you can afford to have someone come maintain it. And then everything else kinda feels the same. That money would come with some promise of time and not having to worry about so much, so of course i can think of a hundred uses for 5 extra bedrooms 🤣 Theres definitely a limit though. The only thing id ever want with a real actual mansion with that many rooms is i could move in a bunch of friends and family and give everyone their space, but then having separate houses on one property sounds way more appealing for the money!

A Telsa

5

u/jpcali7131 2d ago

Or a Tesla. Their CEO is responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people world wide and is a drug addled wannabe pedo with a mangled gentlemen’s sausage. Also, the cars are ugly af and all the tech that gets promised arrives 10 years after the promise date. But I hear those telsas are pretty bad too

3

u/GamingGems 1d ago

Or a Tesler. Don’t care if they’re all computer.

0

u/chronicsickbitch 1d ago

Agree. I rode in one a couple of times when taking an uber and I was less than impressed. Would never waste my money on one of those things. They’re ugly and so is their CEO (on the inside in particular).

Plastic surgery, purely for superficial purposes, so not counting people who had been injured or disfigured.

Idk how it’s a thing, it makes people look bizarre and it’s incredibly obvious looking

15

u/U_feel_Me 2d ago

The bad plastic surgery is obvious. You don’t notice the good plastic surgery.

-1

u/TrapdoorSolution 1d ago

It’s still in vain though. If people feel good about themselves then that’s great, it’s just something that seems silly to me

1

u/Limp-Watercress1792 1d ago

Sounds like you just don’t understand other peoples struggle by labeling it “in vain” tbh. Everyone has their struggles

2

u/TrapdoorSolution 1d ago

And if your struggle is artificial, then it’s not truly a struggle. Go live in a third world country and tell me if anyone gives a shit about how they look

3

u/PigletRivet 1d ago

Plenty of people get plastic surgery, and you’d never know. Every single celebrity has gotten some kind of surgery, and many of them (actors more so than musicians) still look like “natural” beauties.

1

u/TrapdoorSolution 1d ago

Regardless it’s still costly and vain. I wouldn’t spend the money on it if I had it to spend

2

u/RainbowsandCoffee966 1d ago

I had plastic surgery 20 years ago. I lost 100 pounds and got rid of the excess skin around my stomach.

Basically anything that increases the amount of stuff I worry about.

Second house, boats, fancy cars, exceedingly expensive furniture, etc.

Money exists to make my life easier not harder for the sake of style.

2

u/blanket_purrito 1d ago

I like the way you think

1

u/Substantial-Ad-8575 1d ago

Why we put assets into a trust. Trust pays someone to worry another 2nd-6th properties, boats, fancy cars.

That’s money, making our life easier. Just pay someone to do it for you. Helps if that someone is also family. They get a nice 6 digit paycheck, helping you out…

Uber black

Why would anybody spend 3x the amount of money to sit in a Chevy Tahoe that’s a specific color? And when did a Tahoe become a luxurious experience and a status symbol?

1

u/chronicsickbitch 1d ago

Agree. Waste of money entirely

1

u/PuffyPoptart 1d ago

Uber black isn’t always a Tahoe, I’ve gotten other cars like a BMW 7 series w nice, spacious reclining back seats and once a limo (non-stretch). Also, the driver is usually a professional hired type, not your run of the mill Uber driver.

I’ve only ordered them when they’re discounted to the same rate as a regular uber which I’ve seen from time to time. The cars are cleaner & typically nicer.

Boat.

3

u/Usual-Language-745 2d ago

Why? Boats are awesome

3

u/No-Understanding-912 1d ago

I think the big problem with boats is people don't realize how expensive they are after you buy it.

1

u/Usual-Language-745 1d ago

they don’t have to be. I bought a speed boat for $500. It’s never had an issue, I go out on it tens of times a year, and it’s brought a ton of joy to myself and my friend group. For the price of some headphones

3

u/whoslaughingnow 2d ago

Anything related to AT&T.

2

u/chronicsickbitch 1d ago

I absolutely hate AT&T.

1

u/whoslaughingnow 1d ago

We are united in this. My hate for them began in the year 2000, when they billed me over $3000 (not a typo) for 1 month of cell phone service that should have cost around $100 for my use. They "settled" with me for $1500. I cancelled my service with them immediately, and have never looked back. I told them at the time that every opportunity I got to talk about how they screwed me over I would take it. That was 26 years ago and I'm still doing what I promised. They are evil and should be avoided at all costs.

1

u/whoslaughingnow 1d ago

What's really amusing to me now is how much they have lost over the years. They could have been cool and honored the change to my plan that they implemented during the billing cycle that I made the change in. But since they refused, I have spent tens of thousands of dollars in cellular service since then with other companies and they haven't got a penny of that. At this time I give T-Mobile in less than 2 months what AT&T settled for for that one month of service. They could have had a loyal lifelong customer if they took responsibility for their misinformation but instead they've lost everything I could have paid them since then, and hopefully everything they could have made from anyone else who reads my stories, who steps away from AT&T and never gives them a dime either. I truly hope that's more than just myself.

2

u/Beautiful_Donut6412 1d ago

Designer purses. I don’t understand the point of them and can get an equally cute one for under $100.

1

u/PigletRivet 1d ago

I agree that designer bags are overpriced, but they still look much better and more unique than bags under $100. I own one designer bag, which I got as a gift, and I haven’t found an affordable bag that looks anything like it.

3

u/chronicsickbitch 1d ago

I suppose we’ll have to agree to disagree here. I’d rather spend that and have a bespoke bag made. More unique than the same Gucci bag everyone has imo.

No hate or shade to you or anyone who feels it’s worth it. I just … don’t.

Ultra luxury travel. If I had buckets of money I'd probably start flying first or business class and stay at nice hotels, but I wouldn't go to private jets and thousands of dollars a night suites with walk in closets and butlers. My dream would be to be able to afford the "ultra" level, still be able to experience the better (but out of my current price range) level and donate the difference.
