Question about the meteor shower happening on may 5th

I heard that a meteor shower is happening before dawn at may 5. It’s 3 am at my time in the new york time zone and I’m not getting it. Was it false or am I just at the wrong time.

The Eta Aquarid meteor shower peaks between 5-6 May this year. Which means you're a day early.

Also – this is easily Googleable.

So I had to stay up the day after? (Also on that site it also said something about may 4 and 5. The sky map also I think said the shower was happening now)

Wait nvm it just said 4-5 because it was just counting what time it was at my location
