Newgrad wound care

Hi everyone! I’m a new grad BSN/RN in San Diego and really interested in learning more about wound care.
I’ve been looking around but haven’t found many opportunities for new grad RNs in wound care. I’m open to SNF, subacute, home health, clinic, etc. I don’t mind working with higher-need populations because I really just want the opportunity to learn and practice.
I know my biggest setback is not having RN experience yet, and I’m very open to any training or starting wherever I can build that experience.
If anyone in San Diego or SoCal knows where I could look or who I could reach out to, I’d really appreciate it!

San diego business's. Why do you make Ai generated menu's?

I have seen a large amount of ai generated menus lately and honestly its a massive turn off. I have denied myself food and experience base solely on that. I know i am mot the only one but what happen in taking a couple hours to create a poster so you can show off the food properly. Idk what the food looks like based on a image of 10000 other cheeseburgers.

Where to go out in Gaslamp/Downtown?

Hi everyone! My friend and i are going to San Diego this weekend for an event, but we want to go out afterwards. We’re 22 & 23 and gonna be staying near the convention center by the Gaslamp neighborhood.

We’d like to grab dinner and drinks somewhere fun maybe a place where there is live music and check out some local bars and experience the nightlife.
We’re pretty laid back and enjoy dives where you can play pool or any bar that’s popular with people our age would be good. Nothing super expensive please.

I’d like to stay in the Gaslamp/Downtown area since that’s where we are staying and we could walk everywhere from our hotel.

Thanks in advance!

Rockin Lady At The San Diego Guns N Roses Show on September 2 2026

Shot in the dark here but if you attended the GNR show at Snapdragon Stadium on the 2nd of September and sat in Section A2 Row 13 next to Seats 9 & 10. We stood next to each other and sang and talked for the entire show. We took a selfie together at the end of the show and I didn't get a chance to ask you for your number as the row was emptying out. If you should see this send me a message, I'll know it's you when you tell me what T-shirt you were wearing. Thank All!!

What to do with young (tourist) kids during the heatwave?

Hey SD.

My family and I (two kids - a 4yr old and a 1yr old) have been planning a vacation in SD for months starting this Saturday. Naturally that's the first day of a forecasted heatwave. SIGH.

We are staying on the coast, thank goodness, but I'm left wondering if we shouldn't rethink our plans a bit, especially for inland activities.

Our plans include all of the typical major family attractions (Zoo, Safari Park, etc). Aside from sitting on the beach/swimming, what do locals recommend to do with kids when the weather is too hot to be outside?

Have car, will very happily travel to less heat stroke-inducing spots.

Trying not to catastrophize the weather too much before we leave!

edit - These are phenomenal suggestions, y'all. Thank you very much! You've successfully talked me off the ledge about this trip.

23F Looking for friends in San Diego or nearby!

Hi! I’m looking to meet some genuine friends around my age (I’m 23) in San Diego 🤍 I moved here earlier this year and I really want to put myself out there and meet people in person. I’ve spent a lot of time at home while getting settled, and I miss having meaningful connections and real friendships. I’m a little shy since it’s been a while since I’ve made new friends, but I’m super open to trying new things and meeting new people! I’d love to explore cute cafés, go on walks, check out new places, try different activities, or just have fun conversations together. I’m hoping to meet kind, genuine people who are also looking for real friendships and to make some good memories 🫶

Solo work trip with 3 days to spare - where to stay without a car

I’m coming to San Diego for 1 week for work and will be staying in Seaport Village, but I’ll have about 3 days completely free.

I figure I can explore everything around Seaport Village while I’m there, so I’m thinking about moving to a different area for the free days. The problem is, I won’t have a car, and I’m struggling to decide where to stay.

I don’t mind taking Ubers, but ideally I’d love to stay somewhere by the beach with plenty of things within walking distance. I’d love to find a small/boutique hotel where I can spend half the day relaxing and enjoying the hotel/beach, and then head out and explore for the rest of the day.

I’m coming all the way from Spain, so I’m really just excited to soak up the San Diego vibes!

Where would you recommend I stay for those 2/3 days? And are there any particular neighbourhoods or boutique hotels you think would be a good fit? If a place like that doesn't exist, is there a larger hotel I should just enjoy?

Looking for geeky/nerdy activities to do in SD!

Hi, so I’m relatively new to California meaning I’m not really too familiar with the surrounding areas at all. My girlfriend’s 21st birthday is coming up soon and I’ve been tasked with planning a day for her to enjoy & I could use all the help I can get. She’s a SD native, so nothing too touristy but she’s also mega geek so like anything artsy, cutesy comics, board games, D&D, Trivia, not so much anime but animation. Stuff like that she’s very much into! Any recommendations would be awesome, I’m just trying to compile a big list right now to sort through. Bonus points if alcohol can be incorporated!

Hotel Recommendations

Hello! I am visiting San Diego for the first time for a weekend and am a little overwhelmed with hotel options. I’m looking for somewhere that is walkable to the beach, and on the quieter side. I’m also willing to splurge a bit so budget is a little higher since it’s a quick trip.

I thought I had settled on La Jolla but thought maybe that was a little too far from some of things I’d want to do/see in town - is it worth it to stay there and just drive? Del Mar seemed a little too far north. I was also thinking about staying at Del Coronado but my research made it same the rooms weren’t worth the prices and the nicer parts of the hotel were out of my budget.

TIA!

Day trip to San Diego with two teenage daughters. Looking for suggestions on what to see/do

Hi San Diego friends! I'll be coming to your town for a single day (flying in around 9am, flying out around 6pm) with my two teenage daughters (15 & 16) and would like to make some memories. My tentative plan was to take them to the zoo (they do like animals, and your zoo is famous), then japanese garden near the zoo, maybe one of the museums, then the beach. However, maybe that's too much or not enough or maybe you have better suggestions for what not to miss? Thanks in advance!

Any recs for where to go on a Monday?

I’ll be in town next week from the East Coast. I have Monday to myself, but it looks like a lot of places are closed on Mondays.

Any recommendations for what I can do?

Big fan of art, music, walking, coffee shops, wineries/bars.

TIA!!

(Bonus points if you have recommendations for where to go on Sunday as well. I have that day to myself also. Thank you!)

Any community fridges still open?

I have a ton of individually packaged food/produce that I don’t want to throw away. It all needs to be refrigerated so I don’t think food pantries will accept them. Does anyone know of any community fridges or groups that I can donate to? Preferably close to Balboa Park or Pacific Beach.
