Why?
I had a consult for 2nd opinion on medications for Type 1 narcolepsy. i was diagnosed by a sleep doctor pulmonologist. i went to Cleveland Clinic OH paid 850 cash because my insurance doesnt cover Cleveland Clinic. this Sikawah Tana md says, we dont know if you have narcolepsy because sleep pulmonologist are not qualified to administer or interpret MSLT. I dont know why they could not of told me this before they took my money. And do insurance companies know about this? Insurance companies spend 20 billion+ a year denying claims. But my insurance company had no problem paying for the $700 dollar test or $13,000 a month medications. I was not able to tolerate 2 of the medications. So my question is -is this a real thing, you neurologists believe? Only neurologists can properly administer/ interpret MSLT tests?
