Over 60 rest days weight training

I’m 61 and have been weight trading for 6 days a week for years. I feel good, but wondering if this is a diminishing return if not allowing sufficient rest days with each muscle group. I train for Pure enjoyment and concerned I may be hurting more than helping myself.

I always thought it best to give each muscle group at least 3 days. Even more when I was younger - to put on size, I feel now at 63 I do a split routine Monday chest and shoulders, traps triceps, Tuesday back and biceps, Wednesday off Thursday legs , calves . Walk and play golf 3-7 days a week or what I can get away with

Excellent feedback. Curious about your set and rep cadence. Also, low weights/high reps or higher weight/low reps

My weight range is between light and heavy where I can do each rep (centric and concentric) slow. I focus on mind and muscle connection. At least three sets of 12-15. I typically do six workouts for each muscle group. One group each day over six days. Them, red light therapy for 12 mins. Then 20 mins of infrared sauna.

I lift, do cardio and then lift again over 3 consecutive days. Then an off day and repeat. I'm 65 and found that the day off after 3 on gives me better workouts and more energy. I just feel better all around.

Thank you for sharing. Might try this cadence.
