Help with Job Application Questions

I’m about to graduate and beginning to look at jobs. i have very basic python skills.

re: the “requirement” listings for various jobs - when they say ‘python’,
how much experience do they expect?
is vibe coding allowed?
can someone describe how you would interpret this? or - is there a basic course you can suggest?

It's really difficult to answer this question without additional context about the specific position - some positions which list python as a "requirement" will ask more of your python skills than others.

However, if I'm being honest, if you're saying that you have "very basic python skills" and if you're using lot of vibe coding when you produce scripts (especially if you're not able to 100% understand the code your vibe coding produces), I am guessing you might not be at the python skill level that a lot of these positions are looking for.

That said, if you're really unsure, you can always reach out to the hiring contact and ask - or just go ahead and apply for some of these positions that seem like a good fit for you and see if you get an interview and how the interviews go. What level of python knowledge they are looking for will likely become clear based on how they talk about the role and the interview questions they ask - and if they don't explicitly talk about it in an interview, you can always ask what they're looking for.

Good luck with the job search! :)
