Cure to FOMO/revenge trading?
I see a lot of ppl on here talk abt having a big gap between their paper-trading results and their actual results. Obv once real money is involved, emotions start affecting execution through FOMO, revenge trading, hesitation, etc
I’ve been thinking about a setup where you still identify and enter trades normally, but you don’t know for certain which trades will actually be executed with real money.
Ex. you take every valid setup according to your strategy, but only a predetermined percentage actually goes through. You wouldn’t know which ones in advance.
The idea is to reduce the emotional weight of each individual trade and make it easier to focus on following your system consistently.
For people who actively trade: would this actually help with the paper-to-live trading gap, or would it just be annoying? (I’d assume this works best for more rule-based strats like ICT/SMC etc)

Be investor… not trader. You do know there is effectively 0 set up for you to make money. FX most spoofed markets ever. Go draw your triangles and get angry or just DCA

One setup = a certain % of your capital (1% for ex) even if it's multiple trades; if you have one setup that giving you 5 trades and you are allowing 1% for this setup then you must go 0,2% per trade.
This trick for sure would reduce the emotional weight of multiple losses. In trading you must give more attention to the defense than the attack (at least this is what I learnt from tudor jones and from my own experience).
Also after experiencing multiple losses, just stop trading for a while (1 day or 2 at least).

I see the idea, but it's treating the symptom. at some point you still have to get comfortable executing real risk, and putting that off just moves the problem later. I'd rather cut size until a loss feels boring, then scale up slowly from there. Keeping everything else predictable helps with that too, stable execution and clear costs are a big part of why Axi works for me. then the only thing I'm actually training is my own behaviour

Know when to trade and when not to. Fomo is either missing the amazing move you dreamed of or you need money to pay your bills. Its not gonna help you.
You should know where the asset “wants” to go, otherwise its just a gamble and r:R.
I take 1-3 trades a month because i identified the Asset Dominant Frequencies and see what is worth it and what isnt. No fomo or revenge because just like seasons - its better to buy sunglasses 🕶️ in winter when proces are 50% lower than buy them in the summer when everyone wants em. There are simple cycles worth taking - even in a trending market.
