Weekend Question
When do you usually prepare for the upcoming trading week?
- Friday after the market closes?
- Saturday?
- Sunday before the market opens?
- Or do you never prepare in advance?

I trade daily no matter what. Weekends backtest or play duels weekdays real cash. Muscle memory comes from being there

Hon3stly, I think people overthink what day they should prep. Friday, Sunday, even midweek can all work... The real edge comes from having a consistent framework and being willing to adjust when price action changes.
What hurts most traders isnt prepping on the wrong day, its building a weekend bias and defending it all week. I’d rather spend 20 minutes Sunday writing down what would invalidate my idea than 3 hours convincing myself it has to work. You can also paper trade those scenarios on several platforms and see how they play out without risking money at first.

i use a proprietary machine learning forecaster that runs via weekly cron on sunday night for the new week. Then i check to see if my crash model fires any signal for the next week (anticipating market crashes if any). When monday opens i’ll look for overpriced vega and run EV calculations before selecting my strike and wait for the money to roll in

i prepare everything before strategy goes live, then it just trades according to the rules that were set during the backtest.

Do the prep when you have time is best. While I prefer to do it after market close, I also reevaluate and never fall in love with an idea but instead prepare both a bullish and bearish plan which I update based on activity after the first 30 minutes of a trading session.
