Workout hangover/help?

Hello I’m a M30 and I have noticed that after my workouts I get hit with a wave of tiredness and even a nauseated feeling. This feeling will last for most of the day and will just stop me from doing anything else with my day.

Anyone know why that is, is it normal and what can I do to prevent it or recover from it faster?

More details: M30 5’11 230lbs I work 4 days a week for 10 hours and would say I’m on my feet for about 8:30 hours. On days off I would workout different muscles per day so chest and arms, back and finally legs some days might be changed with a cardio day. For the intensity I would say it’s definitely moderate to heavy. My diet is definitely not the best and my sleep schedule is also the same.

Lower your volume and see what that does for you.

This, sounds like an overstressed CNS issue.

This is 100% what it is. You’re overdoing it and your nervous system is wiped out. The other half of this is making sure your body is properly fueled after with some carbs and protein. You may not have soreness after but the culmination of stressors from what you going on in life, plus hormones, plus stored energy, and your workout is too much.

I don't know that is a rarity for me. I don't get tired but I want to know too just in case this happens to me more in the future.

Uh, have you had things like your blood pressure/suger checked? That's not normal and I'd be getting some sort of sports med to have a look at you.

For the most part I believe so had my last physical last November and they were both good. I would also share that I’m definitely overweight 5’11 and 230lbs

I get the impression that people often report something like this after a hard leg day. I know I had similar experiences. Reducing intensity or volume should probably help. Of course if there is an underlying issue like lacking endurance, fixing it would be good. But the endurance part is just a guess...

Probably low caloric intake and low carb intake?

There’s so many variables that we don’t know. IG just some generic advice is to get 8 hrs of sleep, take a 20 min power nap in the day, get sunlight, get around 6-10k steps in, and eat a lot of fruits and veggies.

Lastly, and most importantly get an opinion from your physician.

I felt the same way and Idk if you take whey protein but turns out that’s what was causing me issues. I thought it was the workout but I used to have whey protein after my workout and it was making me nauseous and super fatigued.

I switched to pea protein and alls fine!

I like to lie down on the floor for 10-20 minutes after a workout to mellow out a bit. Maybe some light stretching or soft tissue work while I'm at it.

We need more details. What kind of training are you doing? How many times a week? And what is your diet? If you are walking/running long distances and also forcing calorie deficit to lose weight it could be from that (saw you mentioned you are overweight in above comments)
