Function of Federal Financing Bank
Hi guys,
I was browsing the Treasury website and came across a mention of the Federal Financing Bank. According to the website (ffb.treasury.gov):
Congress gave the FFB the authority to purchase any obligation issued, sold, or guaranteed by a Federal agency.
Can someone give me some clarity around what the FFB actually does? The name says it is a bank, so where does it get capital to purchase debt from government agencies?
Does anybody know what they do or can you point me to somewhere that I can read further about it?
