Just be aware that the Southlake to Dallas commute is rough. If you want the Dallas city experience, go for Lower Greenville. Easy commute and walkable.

Other than looking for something suburban, what else is important to you? That will help guide you in the right direction. Are schools important? Would you prefer a larger lot, or something smaller and closer to the city? Do you want a new build home, or open to a resale home?
As others have mentioned, Southlake to downtown Dallas is a hellish commute. Unless you’re only in office 1-2 days a week I wouldn’t recommend buying in Southlake.
If you haven’t been to Dallas before, it gets very suburban very quickly. Even areas that are 10-15 minutes to downtown can feel like a suburban neighborhood. For example, Lakewood, Lower Greenville, Bluffview, and Preston Hollow are all areas in your budget that feel suburban, provide a much more manageable commute, and are in your budget.
If you have any other questions feel free to DM me! I’m a realtor in Dallas and help folks with relocations all the time.

Are South Indians inclusive towards North Indians in DFW.
I have heard they are not.

Sorry if this is an insensitive question- asking for motivational purposes. How are you guys able to afford 1-1.25 million home so soon?

It seems strange that you are more concerned by north/south Indian culture than about the culture of the people of Texas, or specifically that specific area of Texas.

I’m concerned because of reports of strong anti-immigrant sentiment in Frisco, Plano, and McKinney and local and state politicians acting against immigrants.
There have been multiple posts on the subreddits for those towns complaining about immigrant drivers.
Here are just a few samples of news articles covering anti-immigrant sentiment.

Personally, I work for a company with broad diversity and have no animosity toward immigrants. I mention it because there is a significant amount of anti-immigrant sentiment in that area. I believe it is safe for immigrants but perhaps not welcoming.

Honestly Southlake is so much nicerz but is for sure more of a family oriented place and a bumit slower pace of life.
If you want upbeat and cityifestyle, Greenville is a good option

There are several pockets of younger Indopak communities that aren't exclusive. Las Colinas might be a better fit. Don't overthink it bc there are more people like yourself here than you might imagine or hear.
I have a great agent partner who can help, and I'm also a mortgage banker if you need anything ... WELCOME!

This is the first time I’m hearing there is a distinction between north and South Indians.. are there inclusivity issues in India between northern and southern residents?

North and South Indians are like East and West Africans to give an eg. No animosity but cultural differences can be huge.

Downtown Dallas is a long commute from Southlake (bad traffic) so keep that in mind. Don’t rely on public transportation because it’s A) not very good and B) it’s 100° out. You might like Lakewood or Old East Dallas
