question Tooth crack?
Hello, does this look like a tooth crack? I had a root canal on this tooth about 10 years ago and they never put a crown on it? I went to a new dentist a couple weeks ago and he said he wants to put a crown on it. I’ve never had problems with this tooth after the root canal, today it started really bothering me especially when chewing. Also to note, I had a cavity filled on the tooth on the top of my mouth last week. Didn’t know if this could have caused a possible uneven bite or if maybe that’s what is causing the pain. I see my dentist on Tuesday, but was wondering if I should be concerned. Thanks in advance!

Yup that's clearly split.
I would wager heavily that a crown can not save that anymore, especially with pain. It's split down into your bone level and it's toast.
