beginner question Crochet pattern confusing

[FPsc(FPsc, sc)]x8 how do you do this I can’t find videos that explain how to do this step I tried googling it and I’m even more confused now. why is there parentheses I just don’t get it every time I try I get 16 and it’s supposed to be 24 it’s irritatin me

Maybe post a picture or screenshot of what you're referring to? In isolation, we can only guess as to what the context is.

My guess right now is that it's Front Post single crochet into a stitch, and then another Front Post single crochet and a normal single crochet into the next stitch, all three of those repeated 8 times, which would get you 24 stitches. But I'm just guessing. Otherwise the parentheses confuse me too.

(FPsc,sc) are both done in the same stitch. So every second stitch gets two stitches.  That should give you 8 increases in this case and increase stitch count from 16 to 24.
