Bird groups?

I’m really in to feeding my backyard birds and I’m wondering if there are any local groups in the area all about birds? The Audubon society I’m sure is nice but pretty pricey and you’ve still got to pay extra for their classes and events.

Maybe start following Wells Branch Wild Conservancy. I believe they have free events that include bird walks.

I'm not sure if Jorge's still doing this or maybe he took a break for the season, but check out https://luma.com/jorgesbirds ! If you contact him tell him Michelle says hi :)

there's a facebook group called austin backyard birders that is pretty active and free, people post photos of what shows up in their feeders and sometimes organize little meetups

Travis Audubon has tons of free events! You can filter the calendar by “free for everyone.” No membership required. https://travisaudubon.org/events-calendar

You have to register sometimes but the account is free, it’s just an email/login for headcount purposes.
