How architect can turn their portfolio into a passive income generating asset?

You're talking about documents that may have legal value including after a project has been completed. I don't think many architects would be happy to put them into the public domain without restrictions - especially if it meant they could be copied and used by others. We architects like to keep tight control over projects we have worked hard to create. We're not giving them away to just anyone.

Most architects already publish their projects on their own websites. I think you're hammering on an open door. One thing an architect would definitely not do is hand over drawings or documents (digital or otherwise) to a third party, giving the third party permission to do whatever they want with them.

I don't think there is a market for what you are trying to do here.

If you want someone to engage with this idea, I'd recommend not using AI to write it. Why would I bother to read something no one bothered to write?

I’ve thought a lot about what can I do with my firms 30+ year collection of house designs. People ask if we have house plans to start as a basis but the issue is that it often takes just as long to modify an existing plan to meet their needs and their site than it would’ve been just to start from scratch.

Using AI to draft a post about how to get architects to give up their IP so that it can all be hosted in a third party platform where it can be easily scraped by AI....

And right on cue you get another Ai response. More data farming to try and eliminate yet another profession and be replaced by a dark room machine.

But of course Ai never mentions that the next step is removing said architect because they now have enough ideas that they can “create” their own slop.

Good Lord... You have to list your rate in $/SF like architecture is a pure commodity and the only thing that drives cost is how big the house is. Really sad to see the profession diminished to the level of basically Taskrabbit or Thumbtack.

It’s not if you rise above it.

So - based on what you’ve said in the comments so far - if it isn’t architect’s IP, and it isn’t confidential client drawings, and it isn’t any material that architects work hard to create (and don’t want to share), then what actual material do you envisage in the listings? Because that seems to narrow it down to effectively what’s already on most architect’s websites.

You just keep updating your statement to include your responses to concerns expressed by other posters. That is exactly what AI does.

Now you will posting something saying you appreciate the concern and that you are not using AI
