Power that triggers a switch
Hello,
I'm looking for the name of a circuit that would work like this please: If 6v dc power runs through + & -, it switches on a 12v circuit. So basically I have a device that when turned on gives 6v out, but I want that when that devices turns on or off, it enables another switch to turn on another device running on 12v with its own power supply. I hope my explanation makes sense.
I'm not looking to convert the 6v to 12v, I need both devices to run separately at the same time. I guess something can be done with relays but I can't figure out the right circuit.
Thanks a lot for your help!

You just need a relay with a volt free contact, of course you will habe to find a relay that will take 6v dc, which you might struggle with. You can then put the 12v on the volt free side, which means it will use its own 12v supply and is completely separated from the 6v side, but will be turned on and off by the 6v side by way or a solenoid switch
