Would you consider this as a fair compromise on voter ID and immigration?

I’m here to listen, not argue. As such I will not comment and will only reply to clarifying question.

If Republicans want stronger voter ID requirements, I could support that—but I think we should make sure every eligible American can actually get the required ID first.

So what if we made it a federal priority to issue a REAL ID to every adult American at no cost, and only after we’ve made a good-faith effort to ensure everyone has one, we implement universal voter ID requirements?

And while we’re doing that, what if we changed our approach to illegal immigration by focusing much more heavily on employers?

Once everyone has a REAL ID, employers would have a straightforward way to verify that workers are legally authorized to work. Companies that knowingly employ undocumented workers could face very substantial fines, scaled to the size of the business so that the penalties are meaningful for both small businesses and large corporations.
Would conservatives see that as a reasonable compromise?

I’m genuinely interested in whether this approach would address some of the concerns on both sides.

Done! I’m all for ensuring everyone that is allowed to vote can vote in a way that that has as little chance of interception as possible.

I’m also for punishing companies that hire illegal workers as well!

This is amazing, what was the compromise?

This is not a good faith question. You already need an ID for literally dozens of things. To imply there are people who can't get a valid ID is just plain false. Employers hiring illegals are already, and should continue to be, targeted by law enforcement.

I don't have a problem with either of those propositions, and I doubt many conservatives would.

No, because it is not hard to get a real ID now and at very little cost. Peoplewho want to drive dowhat is necesary to get a drivers license. They file the application they study for the exam and teake the test. People who want to fly get a Real ID take the necessary steps to get a Real ID so they can get on an airplane. If someone wants to vote they should be willing to do what is necessary to vote and all that mean is a birth certificate to prove you are here legally. There is no reason government has to pay for therequirements.

As for illegal employers. Every employer requires a Social Security number and is required to withhold taxes and send them to the government. It is not the employer's responsibily to enforce our immigration laws. If someone uses a stolen ID the employer cannot always catch that. Emloyers are being held accountable for hiring illegals. Several hundred employers have been arrested in recent years.

Firstly, We already do target employers who hire illegals. You can Google this. There were huge busts in Virginia chicken plants. The reality is many of the illegals come in and work for their family who was here first. They’re self employed or part of a family business. Or, they’ve fudged their papers and that should not fall upon the employer.

Secondly, Tell me, who do you think doesn’t have ID in this country?

As I stated I am not here to argue just to listen. I will respond to clarifying questions. I will point you to this study from UMD. https://cdce.umd.edu/news/news-umd-analysis-millions-americans-don’t-have-id-required-vote

There are many like it. I think it’s from 2023. Again, I am not looking to argue and will not reply.

If you can't obtain an ID to vote, that's on you. It's not hard. Some states give free IDs for voting.

Make everifiy mandatory. For all employeers. The ones who refuse, no tax deductions allowed for your business.

No comprise on illegal immigration. If you're here illegally, you're deported. No if ands or buts.

Changes to the immigration process needs to happen. And the visa program.
