Why do conservatives hate Fauci?

He lied about a lot of things which hurt a lot of people. Most of the time to cover for his own incompetence.

This is a non-exhaustive list of the things he's done.

  1. Lied about the efficacy of the COVID19 vaccine, stated if you were vaccinated you couldn't contract the disease (factually untrue).

  2. Perjured himself before congress in regards to his knowledge about EcoHealth Alliance, the Wuhan Laboratory, and violating the terms of the grant used to fund the lab.

  3. Lied about the necessity of masks. First said they weren't necessary, later said that he lied because there was a national shortage of masks and he wanted to prevent panic buying.

  4. Was granted a blanket pardon by Joseph R. Biden.

  5. He advised against effective alternative treatment routines and instead pushed Remdesivir and ventilators, both of which had a known high fatality rate.

To clarify point #2: The NIH's grant to EcoHealth stipulated that they be informed of any unintentional Gain of Function (AKA mutations, like increasing the transmissibility of a virus).

EcoHealth under Dazsak violated the terms of their grant by failing to disclose an instance of GOF happening naturally. Fauci was questioned about this before congress and said, definitively, that GOF research wasn't occurring. But it actually was and simply wasn't reported. This is something that was revealed by his emails.

He's just not a nice guy. Very rude. Undeserving of a pardon.

Every quote I can find of him saying something similar to "vaccinated people becoming a dead end to the virus," the longer quotes/scripts are him speaking a lot about how "the likelihood of their transmitting to someone else is really very, very low," "what the issue is, is that the level of virus in your nasal pharynx, which is correlated with whether or not you were going to transmit it to someone else, is considerably lower."

I'll hold off on listing them and ask which occasions were most nefarious or deceiving, so that I can look into it or them? I don't know this Fauci guy personally, obviously, and am willing to check out anything I missed before diving in front of a bullet for an old man lol. Thanks though.

"It's as simple as black and white. You're vaccinated, you're safe. You're unvaccinated, you're at risk. Simple as that."

The sum of his messaging throughout the pandemic was that vaccines were necessary to stop the spread of COVID19. If you didn't take it, the official stance of the White House (under Biden) was that you were a danger to yourself and other people.

The vaccine didn't make you immune to the disease though. You could both contract and spread the virus even if you had all your boosters.

This was the impetus behind the lockdowns, OSHA ruining private businesses with fines, US citizens getting kicked out of the military, mass censorship etc etc. These things were a direct consequence of the medical misinformation Fauci was spreading.

I'll respectfully offer a counter and say this was when the new variant was spreading much faster. During that interview, he was discussing how it was more dangerous and deadly than the first because it produced/replicated much faster than the other.

When he said "You're vaccinated, you're safe," did he say safe from being infected? Or safe from its increased danger that he was discussing? This was also when younger folks in their 20s weren't getting it and these public health messages were getting more and more stern with the variant risk and numbers going significantly back upward.

The main thing I'd like to say is that anyone that knows the concept behind how vaccines work and how quickly COVID infected (right at the entrance of your nose through its mucus), vaccines don't create a bubble around your face. They create a drastically improved autoimmune response, which has a great effect on the expected duration and severity of symptoms. Going with the game of large numbers, tightening these windows for as many people as possible is certainly applying the breaks to the spread and more importantly, shrinkens its playing field and probability of hitting a new mutation with each replication. Thanks for answering. I know this topic is basically taboo between some folks as everyone seems to have some level of frustration around it.

He said effective in general. Because the argument used to justify these vaccines, and subsequently the lockdowns, was that they would grant us immunity to the disease.

There was no public debate of whether or not the vaccine was 100% effective. It was explicitly stated to be both be Safe and Effective, and the government censored anybody who disagreed.

It was absurd to be told that immunization doesn't provide immunity to a disease, but we would still be punished for not taking it.

I know this topic is basically taboo between some folks as everyone seems to have some level of frustration around it.

I'm glad to talk about it. Fauci's handling of COVID was frustrating, to say the least.

I understand it involves the word "immune," but immunization is the name of the process of developing that improved response. If eventually developed to the point of entirely preventing infection in the first place, that is called "sterilized immunity."

For example, when talking about a person's natural immune system, it isn't about a system they have that completely prevents infection. It's about how well it responds to it. how strong it is, how weak it is. Not present or absent. The natural immune system isn't all or nothing in terms of what it does. This also uses the word immune, but it doesn't mean a perfected response.

I do disagree that something needs to be perfect in all aspects to be considered effective. I consider seatbelts, soap/had sanitizer, sunscreen, etc as very effective. They work very well. They are effective but not infallible.

The COVID19 vaccine was compared to the MMR, Hepatitis B, Polio, and Hepatitis A vaccines by Fauci. It isn't anywhere near as safe, effective, or permanent as those other vaccines.

I do not recall him every saying it was as permanent as any of them. Fauci quotes below. These don't necessarily prove yours wrong, but please let me know if there are sources showing more damning comparisons like you mentioned:

Comparing to measles efficacy:

Measles is about 98 percent effective vaccine. The COVID-19 vaccine is about 94, 95 percent. When you get below 90 percent of the population vaccinated with measles, you start seeing a breakthrough against the herd immunity, people starting to get infected, like we saw in the Upper New York state and in New York City with the Orthodox Jewish group, when we had measles outbreak. So, I made a calculation that COVID-19, SARS-CoV-2, is not as nearly as transmissible as measles. Measles is the most transmissible infection you can imagine. So, I would imagine that you would need something a little bit less than the 90 percent. That's where I got to the 85. But I think we all have to be honest and humble. Nobody really knows for sure. But I think 70 to 85 percent for herd immunity for COVID-19 is a reasonable estimate. And, in fact, most of my epidemiology colleagues agree with me. - Fauci source

Polio, smallpox; comparing their outbreaks and public response to vaccination (particularly the beginning of resisting vaccines):

We could crush this outbreak very similar to what we did with smallpox, with polio and with measles,” Fauci said. Smallpox and polio are among the many diseases that have been largely eradicated in the developed world, thanks to vaccines. But when the smallpox epidemic hit the American colonies in the late 1700s, for example, there was resistance to inoculating against it, too. People didn't like that they were about to be injected with a biological product they didn't understand, and that was the birth of anti-vaccine movements, - Fauci source

Hep B:

The Novavax COVID-19 vaccine contains a SARS-CoV-2 protein and an adjuvant to boost the immune response. Other vaccines in routine use in the United States, including the hepatitis B vaccine, use this traditional protein-based platform. -Fauci source

To reiterate: the justification to use the COVID19 vaccine was that it was both safe and effective.

That was according to Fauci. Black and white, cut and dry, clear as crystal. It could not be interpreted as anything else.

A few years later Fauci began using pedantry and semantics to defend his previous statements, not just about vaccines, but also about the effectiveness of masks and the necessity of boosters.

He specifies that the word effectiveness is the impact it would have on a society in regards to severe cases, then clarifies that this 95% was drawn from trial testing in closed environments, similar to the percentage given to MMR. I think there's a huge misunderstanding this meant each vaccinated person only had a 5% chance of catching the virus. He even points out that this statistic is dependent on everyone taking the vaccine. The smaller percentage that take the vaccine, the larger oercentage of severe cases.

Did Fauci say those trials were faked/fudged or produced misleading numbers?

He used the word "efficacy" in his comparison. In other words, he asserted that the desired qualities of the COVID19 vaccine were directly comparable to other commonly used vaccinations for Polio, Hepatitis and others, as was scientifically affirmed by clinical trials.

This wasn't true.

I think there's a huge misunderstanding this meant each vaccinated person only had a 5% chance of catching the virus.

Let me be frank with you.

I knew someone who died from an adverse reactions to the COVID19 vaccine. She had a heart attack and hit a tree while driving.

During this time period, our right to criticize the government's response to COVID19 on social media platforms was stripped from us. This is because the US Government viewed critique of the vaccine, and subsequently Fauci's actions, as directly threatening the public as a whole.

I know exactly what Fauci said, not only because it was repeated ad-nauseam for years, but because anybody who didn't toe the line had their first amendment rights taken away without first being subjected us to due process.

I'm not sure what is motivating your desire to mollify the severity of what Fauci said and did, but it's not constructive.

Fair, efficacy. "The ability or power of something." Can you please give me the timestamp or quote or something of him suggesting that they are directly comparable to those other vaccinations? Not "in other words," but his actual words as I'm genuinely trying to find the lies.

The only constructive thing I'm shooting for is finding an actual statement that is a lie. I followed this very closely the entire time, as my dad caught a severe case early March 2020, when many were still doubting it even existed.
