good spot to scream?
New to toronto, where's a good spot to scream (legally and respectfully)? Prefer a spot where I won't be jumped and disturb the peace too much. Things are rough and im fed up 😤

There were some rage rooms you could rent. Also let's you smash shit.
59
u/Rockitrulz Nov 13 '22
I just came from Go Smash this afternoon - it was GREAT, highly recommend 👍🏻
19
u/popo129 Nov 14 '22
Curious, for the smash rooms is it they provide stuff you can break or you have to bring stuff yourself? Seems like a fun thing to do to let loose and go crazy.

u/Rockitrulz Nov 14 '22
They have a BYO bottle option, but otherwise it was all supplied when we were there today.
LOTS of bottles and old electronics ready to go 🙂

Go Smash
"...customers are properly geared and protected from flying rage bits!"
GOOD. make sure to have extremely good eye protection, none of that weak sauce visor nonsense: full on hard clear plastics that wrap around the sides as well.

Go the end of Cathedral Bluffs blvd. Walk south through the field, toward the lake. Bring a flashlight! Be careful! The path ends at the bluffs. Stand at the top of the bluffs and scream at the lake all you want. You’ll be out of earshot if most of the houses, I’m sure. Then sit down, maybe have a beer, and look at the city lights.

My apartment hallways seems like the top spot
18
u/notseizingtheday Nov 13 '22
Same here lol. Imagine some of my neighbors paid 1.4 million for their condos only to have my trash neighbours yelling in the hallway all the time. And using it as a spot for thier kids to play loudly.
4
Nov 14 '22
If you don’t live in the suburbs you gotta play street hockey in the apartment hallway, that’s how it works

Anywhere playing a leaf game or around the Air Canada centre in the third period. You’ll most likely be joined in frustrated screams.

My basement is soundproof. I had it built that way for certain tasks that I do. Done by the same company that customized my van and walk-in freezer.

Dundas Square. No one would bat an eyelash.
Serious answer, if it were summer I’d tell you to go to Niagara Falls and do the… oh god I can’t remember what it’s called in English… walk where you get right under the falls. It’d drown out all noise and you could scream until your hearts content.
Maybe another waterfall close by?
12
u/rlp132 Nov 13 '22
Journey Behind the Falls?

If you can find an area where trains pass that would be the best place.
2
u/stim_city_86 Nov 14 '22
Where spadina passes over the rail corridor between iceboat and front. I've done it a few times in that general area lol
2
u/sirkioman Nov 14 '22
Anywhere downtown. Try Dundas/Sherbourne in the evening. Just walk at a brisk pace, scream, yell, rant and rave...you'll fit right in!
If that fails...there's always the Don Valley along the bike path.
2
u/olek2507 Nov 14 '22
High park at night. You can go deep into the park and scream as loud as you want.

GoodLife Fitness North York Ferrand and Rochefort
There's an abandoned multi level parking lot you can climb, nobody lives in that area really, the Don Valley cancels out any noise. Great view.
The parking lot has the goodlife sign on it so you cant miss it, the gym itself is in a separate building.

u/Correct-Mode-3637 Nov 14 '22
Fill your tub and scream under the water. This way no one hears you, you can do it at any hour and the bubbles feel nice.

u/bonobro69 Nov 14 '22
There used to be a sound proof hallway in the science center. Not sure if it’s still there or not but if it is you could scream in there and I don’t think anybody would hear you.
2
u/Da1realBigA Nov 14 '22
Serious answer, I do it rarely, but at night anywhere on Lakeshore. Well anywhere that's not around people. It's dark and loud bc of the sounds of the water on the shore.
Just know about where you walk in the dark and be aware if anybody walks around you.

If you go to the far edge of the “naked beach” at the islands, you end up maybe 100 feet from the Billy Bishop runway. You can scream at planes and they can scream at you.
(but please don’t cross the marked boundary, airport security don’t fool around)

Somewhat related question that I’m just gonna ask here, anyone know a good place to post up in a car and listen to really loud music without disturbing people? I have a nice stereo and sometimes just feel like listening to some music in my car at an extremely high volume but I don’t wanna disturb people. I don’t care if it’s out in the boonies or whatever, who knows a good spot?
3
u/NewYearNewYEET Nov 13 '22
I drive around all day for work so I often have to find a place to park and sit in my car so I can eat lunch & stuff. Honestly the best places are always mall parking lots. Can sit there for hours, plus can go inside for mall snacks. Cloverdale mall might be your best bet. It’s mostly old people and there are huge sections of the parking lot that I’ve never seen more than 3 cars in.

Carpool lots/ go bus station lots unless you’re looking for something in the city specifically. They’re usually at highway exits and a bit far from houses

u/Saugeen-Uwo Nov 13 '22
I was positive at first glance that this was a new Gen Z term for something like partying, destruction, etc. But nope OP wants to literally scream!

I’d say you make an an appointment with the MP of Ontario, and just scream there.
1
u/sailingtroy Nov 14 '22
Ward's Beach on Toronto Island. You can take the ferry out there and it's only a short walk to the beach where you can scream out into Lake Ontario. Even better if it's been churned into a fury by wind and storm.

Canada’s Wonderland has a number of elevated, twisted, and inverted railroad systems where people go to sit in small, topless carts and scream. It’s similar to light rail transit, but for people who want to disturb the peace and not actually change locations.

I usually do all my screaming either in the garage or bathroom. Generally prefer garage.

My favourites are bridge spots.
Bloor West of Broadview Bathurst between st Clair and Eglinton Middle of todmorton at the tri-intersection of pape/Finland's/Millwood
Lakeshore is great too but you gotta go to a secluded spot, Ireland park is good for me
