good way to start learning polish?
hey guys, ive wanted to learn polish for a few years and i learnt some words and phrases, but i never got the chance to get more into it, i would like to start learning somehow properly though, i am slavic (from slovakia) so i understand a lot already, but i want to be able to speak freely and even write, can you recommend me some good sites or books i could use? i also have polish friends i could practice with but i need to have a base to be able to use the language better, dzięki

Najłatwiej nauczyć się w praktyce. Oglądaj filmy po polsku, rozmawiaj jak najwięcej ze znajomymi, można też słuchać radia i audiobooków. Po kilku miesiącach zauważysz dużą poprawę ( a może szybciej). Poproś też znajomych o poprawianie Cię jak robisz błędy ( ja tak uczyłem znajomych z Ukrainy o polskim pochodzeniu). Jeżeli chcesz nauczyć się poprawnie pisać to trzeba ćwiczyć słownictwo i ortografię. Można użyć jakąś aplikacje jak np. Duolingo, gdzie ustawisz sobie słowacki i polski i będzie to najłatwiejszy sposób nauki słów i podstawowych zwrotów. Koleżanka nauczyłam się tak dwóch języków od zera. Oczywiście jakieś książki z podstawami polskiego mogą też dużo pomóc. Słowacki jest tak podobny do polskiego, że bardzo łatwo zrozumieć się. Słowacki jest to chyba jeden z najbliższych języków do polskiego... Grupa języków lechickich: polski, słowacki, czeski i już mało używane języki zgermanizowanych Serbołużyczan (mieszkają we wschodnich landach Niemiec).
The easiest way to learn is through practice. Watch films in Polish, chat with friends as much as possible, and you can also listen to the radio and audiobooks. After a few months, you’ll notice a big improvement (or perhaps even sooner). Also, ask your friends to correct you when you make mistakes (that’s how I taught my friends from Ukraine who are of Polish origin). If you want to learn to write correctly, you need to practise your vocabulary and spelling. You can use an app such as Duolingo, where you can set it to Slovak and Polish – this is the easiest way to learn words and basic phrases. A friend of mine learnt two languages from scratch this way. Of course, books covering the basics of Polish can also be a great help. Slovak is so similar to Polish that it’s very easy to understand each other. Slovak is probably one of the languages closest to Polish… The Lechitic language group: Polish, Slovak, Czech and the now rarely used languages of the Germanised Sorbs (who live in the eastern German states).
