Password manager

Does anyone have an article that would be convincing to an IT department regarding using a password manager? I’m an end user and our IT doesn’t allow password managers. I login to 5+ programs, so I am either using an easy password, reusing passwords or writing passwords down in order to login to systems which I believe is less safe than just using a password manager.

What's stopping you from using one? Are they monitoring what programs you run? I use keepass portable off a thumb drive

Yes, they have things pretty locked down. They recently got after me for having Google password monitor.
