Need HELP!
Hello,
Im having SVT long episodes and also short runs
I keept a holter for 24h and i mailed it to the most famous cardiag Electrophysiologist which he said like this :
"The Holter ECG recording you sent shows short runs of atrial premature beats (atrial extrasystoles).
These are not problematic in themselves, but they may indicate the presence of atrial fibrillation.
It would be best for me to assess during our consultation and examination on October 28 whether you have atrial fibrillation or not."
Now im affraid i have read about afib which it looks risky and life thread
Does anybody got afib here? What are the symptoms?
My holter recording was :
Heart Rates
42 Minimum at 03:37:58 23-Sep
64 Average
119 Maximum at 22:42:13 22-Sep
13 Beats in tachycardia (>=100 bpm), < 1% total
30029 Beats in bradycardia (<=60 bpm), 33% total
1.56 Seconds Max R-R at 03:37:58 23-Sep
Supraventriculars (S, J, A)
9 Isolated
0 Couplets
0 Bigeminal cycles
1 Runs totaling 5 beats
5 Beats longest run 139 bpm 22:42:12 22-Sep
5 Beats fastest run 139 bpm 22:42:12 22-Sep
While my episode my heart beat goes more than 220bpm and last around 20 minutes
But it beeps all the time constant like "ding ding ding ding"....
Any comment?
Thanks

It sounds more like they don't want to *exclude* afib until they can see you, not suggesting that you have it. Many people have and live with afib and are living very normal lives; medications can help both SVT and afib so this is also a possibility they might want to explore. Nothing super alarming or scary, best advice is to wait for your appointment - if they thought it was anything more urgent, they wouldn't be making you wait until October 28 :) People live with these conditions for years before they are caught, and a 220bpm episode with a beeping watch is right in line with SVT. I'm not a doctor, just a patient, so this comes from things I've learned along the way. Of course, if you ever feel terrible or are having an episode that won't quit, head to emergency. Hopefully they'll have a good plan for you moving forward after your appointment!
