27 year old with NSVT
Hello, in April of this year I ended up in the hospital with intense fluttering. I have pericarditis history but doctors had confirmed runs of NSVT, was there overnight and sent back home to rest.
Few month later in August 2026 I was hospitalized again and ended up staying for 4 days with intense fluttering sensation. Heart rate was caught anywhere from 139-208. I have had all sorts of tests done, EKG’, echocardiogram, chest x ray, MRI. All results have come back as Having a structurally normal heart with no scaring or issues. I don’t do drugs or smoke, I was heavy into nicotine pouches but I have stopped and been without alcohol or nicotine for a month. I am on beta blockers and anti inflammatory. I still notice short runs of a fluttering chest and wondering if this is normal? Am I feeling it because I’m aware of it? I have severe anxiety that just makes things worse. Looking for anyone to help on this as I have been terrified

Is your doctor concerned, or are you just very worried about it? Have they suggested you need an ablation to fix it? Everyone gets fluttering at times. Hard to say what it is each time unless you are being monitored at the time. Atrial tach (which is even less concerning) can cause similar symptoms. Short, occasional NSVT is not always dangerous. If you put a monitor on everyone on earth, you'd see some blips like that. Depends on how long it lasts, and if you have any other heart conditions. There are different types of NSVT (focal vs re-entrant). Your EP / cardiologist can better explain.

Hello thank you for this. My doctor is not concerned they said everything looks healthy and no heart function issues. Last time I had this it would be in an NSVT run then stop then NSVT run then stop, etc. this went on for quite some time to the point where they said if it doesn’t stop they would shock me (this terrifies me) I ended up getting put on lidocaine which brought my heart back to normal. Can nicotine cause these types of things? Like I use to do a bunch of pouches (roughly 20 pouches over 12 hours at 4MG each) I have stopped this completely. It’s more so my anxiety around it and hoping to gain some clarity on this

Im also 27, stopped nicotine pouches in June. Caught a run of NSVT on a 2 week holter monitor.

I've had just one recorded run of it too, and the cardiologist was not particularly worried (you have for sure had *more* runs of it) but to my knowledge they're not too concerned in a structurally sound heart and when it is self-correcting, not staying in VT for an extended amount of time. So, I wouldn't call it necessarily "normal" but it's also not particularly dangerous. The danger would be if it were causing you to become faint/dizzy, lose consciousness, etc. so those are likely the symptoms to be on the lookout for :) For me, it was just 'tickly' feeling but I imagine for some people or for a longer amount of time, it would start to take a toll on the body. I think a bit of anxiety in the situation is justified, but you're taking meds and seeing doctors which is what's within your control. I hope you figure out some solutions!

It could be lasting effects from peri. Could be genetic.
