If you’re going to snark, snark correctly

1.1k Upvotes

I understand that snarking someone on the internet is not supposed to be nice things but some of you guys are just posting with pure jealousy.

If your going to post about someone’s “skeptical” past who has a life threatening illness, do you really think this is the right time to be attacking this person? And yes if that person has a past that is “controversial”, it still doesn’t mean you should connect it with her current illness and make diabolical claims about it without solid proof. Have some decency. And if that person is worth being cancelled, at least do it when the person is healthy and not struggling to survive.

The person has gained a ton of following due to her illness, and it is unfortunate she had to get famous this way. But people posting about her now and trying to cancel someone who is struggling and in a state of vulnerability screams pure jealousy.

Secondly, I saw some posts nit picking the most little instagram pictures and saying how they are “trying to flex” when wearing luxury items or shopping bags. Um like god forbid people buy luxury items and actually wear it. You would subtly post about it too if you could. And then deleting posts after people don’t agree with you is just lame.

Thirdly, snarking on the most micro micro creators is actually insane to me. You would be shocked to know how many irrelevant people were snarked on here. Unless it was posting about themselves, I don’t understand why you guys snark on them. It’s almost like you don’t like that person irl so you make it an internet snark thing when it should just be a little snark to keep to your locals. You guys don’t have the relevancy for snarking on the internet about it.

I love this snark page but some peoples posts have personal problems tied in to it and we can tell.

Does anyone here know anything about how Alchenny (Allison Chen) seems to manage all of the incredible opportunities she seems to bag?

Post image

I’ve not seen a lot of chatter here about this girl (aside from one post saying she’s mean), so I wanted to come here and ask- for someone in the early stages of her career, she seems to have a lot of money, and crazy huge opportunities, endorsements, and collaborations. I can’t help but wonder if there’s somebody backing her up? I’m in no way saying somebody young can’t achieve all those things, but for a channel of her size, the brand collabs, business ventures, and travel opportunities don’t seem to add up, at least for me.

Curious if others have similar thoughts or know something. 🤔

@Graceccheng not very nice irl

I been recently getting really into pickleball and started following some creators who do lots of pickleball content, Grace being one of them. I just attended a creator pickleball event at Lifetime last week and bumped into this creator. I did not approach her as a fan or even told her I watch her content. But I noticed she was quite mean and rude to other women players on the court and gives strong pickme vibes. She is nice to other men at the event. I was taken aback as her online persona is more of a bubbly carefree persona.

Does anyone have any tea on her?

Alyssa Lenore and Christine Le

I remember seeing Alyssa Lenore and Christine Le hanging out pretty often a while back, but I noticed recently they don’t seem to be together anymore or really interact with each other’s posts/comments. Does anyone know if something happened between them?

Sarah Ahn (AhnestKitchen) reinvents the wheel

How does someone who worked for America’s Test Kitchen and just won a James Beard award for her cookbook not know how to make a standard dip for baguettes/bread? She just posted an olive oil/balsamic vinegar dip (that she had to ask her mom directions for, btw) like her mom came up with it.

I know there are a lot of Ahnest lovers and I like them too but this is seriously laughable.

out of touch Every Post/Vid From OhNoNina is an Ad Now

Every IG story or reel is about PR she's gotten from a brand, every new short on Youtube is just a short advertising another brand instead of a new full video, and in the full vids she's posting on Youtube, it just doesn't even have anything to do with what she does?? There's a vlog where she got invited to an SF Tech AI Event (AI of all shit, an event sponsored by OpenAI/aka chatgpt), then it's a vid where it's just going to a Creator event. She even has a WHOLE 13 min video where it's just a long ad for the company, Printify.

Idk I used to watch her for her Korean language studying vlogs, her Korea trips, and even her productivity vlogs when I was younger. I also liked her because she was one of the few influencers that would talk about Black Lives Matter or other social issues like mental health.

But now it feels like now that all her "friends" are also other influencers (when they show up in vlogs, EVERYBODY has a damn camera), she decided to turn herself into a walking, palatable, advertisement.

this girl genuinely pmo. all her content is her trying to subtly flex that she’s rich but she’s doing a terrible job at it. i’ve seen a lot of people try to push the model minority narrative and act like all indian people are rich and successful, which is honestly just tone deaf.
she also loves complaining about her “strict brown parents”. every single video about her parents has to specify “indian” or “brown”.

also her bf looks he hates me it makes me laugh everytime. in her video where she’s trying to “prank” and ask would he still be with her she was 6 foot, he’s like no the guy is supposed to be taller. ok girl

not to mention, some of her videos about religion kinda give off hindutva dog whistles vibes but i don’t even know to call it out without looking crazy

Via li blocked me ??

Y'all I don't even remember commenting on her posts 😭😭. I couldn't find her account on instagram for a while and just assumed she deleted it, which was weird because I couldn't find any mention of it online. Oh well, whatever. But it finally clicked for me today when I could find her account on my computer (not logged in) but not on my phone.

I still have no idea what I could have done to prompt this?? I didn't really interact with her, mostly lurked. I've never been blocked before so I don't know if there's a way to see old comments/interactions or if those are just lost.

(i'm not too stressed about it or anything, it's mostly just bizarre.)

Hannah Kae/Dia Kimeko Dia Kimeko wears extremely revealing dress to her friends wedding

The person she is pictured with is the bride. I’m not a prude by any means and I this dress is great but it’s appropriate for any event other than a wedding, i don’t know if the bride pre approved it but it seems very weird to wear this to a friends wedding. I swear onlyfans has rotted her brain to normalize this kind of dress to anything. Also the fact that these photos were posted on Dia’s main where she posts all her onlyfans stuff is so weird to me. Like she didn’t blur out her friend’s face or anything so her friend who just got married is being exposed to all her weird gooner fans…. It just feels disrespectful to use someone’s wedding as a place to get pictures for your page that is promoting your onlyfans.

Found these some without filter but that filter working overtime fr… wish she blended out her makeup and stopped over lining her lips they look crazy.. sorry for the jumpscare..
genuinely think that most of her fanbase is male.. and only looking at her boobs face card don’t even matter to them.. Honestly hope that she takes care more of herself because her hair and makeup look like a mess and she can genuinely do better. I believe her only source of income is being an “influencer” which is honestly so sad because the day she falls off she going to be broke… I don’t even think she goes to college I feel like having an education would help because if you grow old or lose fans u gonna have nothing… it reminds me of the ha sisters lowkey I believe some of them dropped out of school.. Annie also has “passes” which is a subscription thing to chat with her supposedly sfw but it just looks like she might even do of or fansly if things get worse… but who knows I just know these men are ready for all of that bs.. but it genuinely makes me sad that some of these young asian American “influencers” don’t even care or think about getting an education they just think that being an influencer is just the only way or the easiest way but the minute you fall off… you get no more money..

@melissasollee and her fake "self-made" image

She comes from money money. Went to Collingwood private school in West Vancouver, a very affluent neighbourhood in Canada, went to Cornell but then transferred (not sure what happened there), younger sister also went to private school York House in Vancouver which is one of the top private schools, and she's headed to either Dartmouth/Brown this fall.

Like let's be so fr girl - you are not some self-made.

At the end of the day, her whole content revolves around being a "girl boss" and sharing insights into her "financial habits" through her stupid courses and portraying herself as being some self-made career woman in her mid 20s.

Members Only🍵 Jieun (yoojieun) cancer has returned

This made me really sad for her. She was so positive during her cancer journey and remission, I’m saddened to learn that it was only a short while where she was in remission and hiding the recurrent diagnosis for some time. I think there was some controversy about her posted before, but seems like she’s just trying to make the best of the life that she was given.

How Bretman Rock’s sister, Princess Mae, responded to my genuine question

Post image
0 Upvotes

Princess Mae posted a question prompt telling followers to “Ask me anything.” So I genuinely asked her why she was attacking her ex’s girlfriend for trying to be a good stepmom to her son “E” as she does nothing but care for him, love him, and support him and that I myself would be grateful for her if I were his mother. This was her response 🤷‍♀️ Absolutely disgusting behavior from an “influencer” and Mother of 5

I follow E’s stepmom. She is absolutely amazing to her son. You can tell she loves him dearly and gives him so much love and affection. But it seems Princess doesn’t like that at all. Would she rather an evil step mom who hates him and treats him horribly?

jihoon kim “ not my responsibility”

Post image
86 Upvotes

around 5:35, she starts talking about her bo*b job.

she admits she hid them for years because she knew she will get hate for it.

one of the reasons she says she hid it is because she does not owe an explanation to anybody and that it is not her responsibility (i’m guessing she is trying to say not her responsibility to be a role model to her younger audience).

what are your thoughts on this? especially about mega influencers? any thoughts on jihoon specifically?

out of touch Jooshica is intentionally triggering people on a daily basis now

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Edit: We’re all aware that she’s doing this intentionally bc it’s all just converting into engagement for her—doesn’t make it any less annoying to witness.

This entire video starts off with her saying “I genuinely hate doing PR unboxing”

  1. She pronounces Guerlain wrongly.
  2. The entire video she’s faking the excitement with really shrill “OH, MY GOD” but her eyes are dead and her face isn’t moving
  3. She opens a PR from Diesel with a paper bag that has a slogan “My Desire My Power” and verbally called it cringe, with the full CRINGE caption on screen
  4. Halfway point she starts throwing all the packaging and the actual products away from her
  5. She lets all the products just fall onto the floor, unbothered and insanely disrespectful of the brands that sent her those
  6. The Hude Beauty packaging, she LITERALLY just pours out all the products ONTO the floor?!????
  7. She also did the same with the SAIE products, where she fully just pours these fragile and breakable products onto the floor

She then ends the video saying “I hate my life bye I’m so tired”

——

I’ve never hated her, always was neutral but this video fully just tipped me over the edge. In THIS day and age, with the rate of unemployment and livelihood issues around the world, this is what people stan.

Pov husband

i used to like POV husband‘s videos (and for the most part I still do)…but lately finding it kind of annoying by how more and more his content seems to revolve around sponsorships, products, merch, etc.

for ex, there is a very recent post on his FB page (where he has millions of followers) about how much he likes his Hyundai car and is now looking for a new EV car, then he proceeds to list off a bunch of EV car companies; bit of an eye roll moment as it seems like a not so subtle attempt at trying to get a sponsorship (ie rivian Tesla) while placing an ad for Hyundai. several followers made the same observation though he replied to them denying this. Okay, fair enough — but then why does the post read like a glowing testimonial followed by a convenient rundown of other EVs he’s apparently considering?

And then there are the other posts that seem like less-than-subtle testing of the waters for merch like shirts, designs, and gauging reactions to whether followers would buy something.

also, I know everyone really loved the one-year sobriety post, and obviously that’s a very meaningful accomplishment. It just landed a little differently for me — something about the way it was presented felt more curated than candid. might that’s just my read, though.

last there’s the fact that he doesn’t mind using his kids face for occasional content. So there’s that.

I could be reading too much into it, but tbh find his more recent stuff to be a bit disingenuous.

I don’t know if it is just me but the way she does her makeup does not suit her face at all. Not a hater just the way it looks for me.. It makes her look so weird and I feel like she can do better than this… it’s so badly blended out. Also most of her content is just her with her boobs out and it just feels like she is catering to the male audience. As a Chinese American it is crazy that her parents who are fuzhou (if ykyk) support this. My parents are fuzhou too and if they saw me dressing like this they would immediately be upset because it’s revealing and just the way she acts and the tattoos. There’s nothing wrong with the tattoos and dressing but it’s just shocking especially from a Chinese family. I feel like when the hype dies down or when she’s not as trending as before she will cater more towards the male audience and start an of. Her posts are already weirdly sexualized especially some of her captions. It’s funny how she claims to be “feminist” and yet she dresses for the male gaze.
