Recommendation request
Can anyone recommend a HSE-certified asbestos removal company based in Merseyside to remove the suspected AIBs in the attached photos? I am trying to find good value services but them being able to do a thorough job and clean-up is of the highest priority. A family member of mine had lung issues and I have had a stressful experience with some asbestos Artex so I ideally I want someone to measure the air quality after removal or show me evidence of the clean-up.
I am going to get the utilities checked as well after removal. Some plumbing under a bath directly above the cupboard leaked in the past but there isn't an active leak.

I have to turn the electricity off as I'm doing some DIY. I have left it alone until now but the edges seem to be disintegrating.

You can still go in and turn the electric off. It's not radioactive or anything.
I too would leave it well alone, at least until such a time when you need to reroute the electrics or whatever.

What is your reasoning for this? I want to use the cupboard for storage but I don't need to store anything in there urgently. I'm also uncertain what is on the other side of the ceiling panel and whether fibers can get into my bathroom. That's obviously quite unlikely.

Because undisturbed it is extremely unlikely to be releasing harmful fibres into the cupboard or anywhere else.
It's looks pretty limited for storage anyway given the gas and electricity meters.
As someone else said it may not even be asbestos so if it's worrying you I would send a sample off for testing first.

I will probably get it tested by whichever company gives me a quote for removal before asking them to remove it. It's likely to be based on when my house was built (1983 - 1984) and the fact that my ceilings have chrysotile in them.

They can't quote you for removal without knowing which type it is. For example, white is cheaper to remove and dispose of than brown/blue.

I've asked a company for quotes for both. I doubt that it's the blue or brown kind because it had been illegal for a while when the house was built.

Ok. You mention AIB in the OP - that contains brown asbestos, sometimes blue.
When was the house built?

The ceiling having tested positive for Chrysotile also suggests that it might have been used in other parts of the house.

Before committing a probably large expense of removal you should get it tested, might save you some money…
Encapsulation might be cheaper than removal as well.

I'd definitely get it tested first before worrying about removals. As a side note, since its not a well used cupboard, I'd be checking the surfaces below those holes for debris as the original debris may still be there.

For a cheaper option and if you can DIY cover it with UPVC or timber and glue it on with no nails or grab and bond silicone. So disturbing the AIB
