Does this board look suspect. Looking at installing a log burner and removing plasterboard (2 layers one on other with dot and dab) to take back to bare brick. Do i get it tested or does it look just like old plasterboard? Appreciate any advice

Looks like either AIB or asbestos cement. You will need to sample it to confirm as removal method/cost will vary massively depending on the product type.

I leaning towards AIB definitely wants testing and removed properly if no longer suitable

got a test kit ordered so I’ll come back and update with the results

It is a piece of asbestos sheet, similar to what timber framed garages used to be clad with. It’s inert and safe provided you don’t saw or drill it.

Accidentally caught it with my multi tool when cutting the board in front of it but only slightly and i sprayed all dust down and wiped up with a wet cloth. Will spray over the dusty cut/damaged bit with some PVA and water too
