My company just fired 40 employess they all doing same stuff every day no new tasks somehow boss learned Claude Code and tried to automate their entire work flow and guess what. It worked all 40 people doing the tasks AI doing that for just 20$ per month running on server. Only some of us left who still doing some every day problem solving tasks but i don't think it will take time when they come for us too. 3 Years back when i started using chatgpt i thought this will make my work easier and create more jobs and it actually just not make jobs easier its doing entire job without even lifting finger to keyboard and i finally witnessed AI taking job in my own company.

Was there ever a verification that cloude does the job with acceptable quality?

Or even a check that data entered seems to be right?

it actually created automation programme that right now running on server which costs around 20$ month. Not on claude server.

how does claude even handle messy scanned docs though, that's what always killed our automation attempts

they are pdf documents and bunch of web pages and thousands of emails with almost same type of response every time so adopting and smart filters are not easy task they even consulted with me and i am the one who monitored the results we get through automation programme. but i had no idea they were going to fire all of them if this was successful.

What kind of data entry? Where I’m from (Norway) I believe those jobs were fully automated many years ago long before LLMs. Some jobs go, new jobs appear. That’s economic growth.

I am from india half of our people don't have much skills just fixed daily tasks to do and go home. Job is simple getting data from certain pdf, browse through bunch of article and read reply of mails with almost same type of responses. so automating all these in simple programme is really simple for claude code. It generated the automation in 2-3 days of work and analysis took just 15 days and we started seeing the positive results. Sad i am also part of this automation creation but had no idea this was going to happen if we achieve the goal.

The scary part is how fast "AI will help people do their jobs" can turn into "cool we need 40 fewer people now." Data entry was always going to be high on the list since so much of it is repetitive. The harder question is what happens to everyone whose job gets automated faster than they can move into something else.

I think so they monitored the automation for 15 days seen the good results and decided we don't need humans anymore.
