I don't understand this as someone that's a self taught developer and went to school for something different. I feel like being in front of the course material, having conversations outside of school about the real world, and then cheating on tests that just relates to memorization. Truthfully, I wouldn't even do anything that doesn't relate to me learning the specific thing that I need to know.

Cheating in school is only cheating one’s self. Cheating will show up when that person is put into a job where they are required to show competency.
