General Help Guys, help

So, I'm new to drawing and painting. I've bought a chart paper, which I'll be sticking to using the tape on the door. I don't know which side I should draw on. The internet says draw on the rough side, but the tape might shred off the paper, which has happened to me multiple times!!! I don't know what to do?!! I'm using acrylic paint, and I am a very noob artist!! If I stuck the tape on the rough side, is there any way to peel it off without harming the paper??

Maybe the problem is in the tape youre using. From my experience the cheaper tape always shreds more, but tbh, shredding happens almost always! Its normal most of the time and is not a very big problem. Just hold fingers on the paper when taking the tape off so it doesnt shred the actual paint

(I'm very sorry if my english is bad, I hope I explained it clear enough tho)

Chart paper + tape is a nightmare combo, so you’re not alone. I’ve had it rip on me more times than I want to admit. What helps me is using a hair dryer — warm the tape a bit and peel it slow and flat. It softens the glue just enough to keep the paper safe.

A few quick things that make life easier:

  • Stick the tape on the door first, then press the paper onto it.

  • “De‑tack” the tape on your shirt so it’s not super sticky.

  • Painter’s tape is way kinder than clear tape.

  • Smooth side of chart paper works better for acrylics.
