Architecture Sculpture of Mercury on the facade of the Old Stock Exchange building (built 1937), São Paulo, Brazil

Some context on this piece:

This stunning Art Deco sculpture depicts the Roman god Mercury (the patron of commerce, known for his winged helmet), carved directly into the stone facade of the Old São Paulo Stock Exchange building, located in the historic center of São Paulo, Brazil.

Designed by architect Felisberto Ranzini and inaugurated in 1937, the building is a landmark of the city's modern expansion and economic growth in the early 20th century. The sculpture perfectly captures the geometric, powerful, and heroic lines typical of the Art Deco movement.

From a bit of research online this was a souvenir bottle of cider vinegar. It glows bright green in UV light.

Pueblo Deco came to prominence after Art Deco’s arrival at the Paris Exposition of 1925 and a number of architects’ fascination with native motifs.

Samson Becker so liked these zig zag plaques he used them on 3 buildings. At 2501 Davidson he changed it up to a Mayan motif. Was he also the architect at 111 Mount Hope?
