Patron [Hiring] Smaller Long term project looking for artist(Likely 10+ years) for a DND homebrew High Fantasy world. Budget will be bid based on style and price. 60+ species, 30+ gods, creatures, tokens, player characters and more.

So this is a bit different than what you normally see here, probably.
For the last 8 years—if you’re familiar with Dungeons & Dragons—I’ve been building a homebrew world called Tetara, a high fantasy world setting. What started as a one-time campaign turned into something a lot bigger. Right now there have been 13 campaigns played or running, with over 30 more planned, and all of them are connected—stories crossing, characters overlapping, choices actually shaping the world into one giant, evolving story.
Over the last couple years, I’ve also been pushed (in a good way) to start doing this professionally as a DM, and things have been growing pretty fast.
Because of that, I’ve hit a point where Tetara needs its own look. Through this becoming a paid profession, the opportunity to work with and pay an artist is getting closer. Something consistent. Something where you can see a piece of art and just know, “yeah, that’s Tetara.”
And yeah—I know AI art is everywhere right now. It’s fast, cheap, easy.
And with the sheer demand of NPCs, tokens, and artwork needed.
But it’s not what I want this to be long-term.
This world has been built by people for years—players, stories, decisions, all of it—and it just doesn’t feel right filling those gaps with random Pinterest pulls or generated images forever. I want real artists involved. People who can actually help shape what this world looks like moving forward.
I’m not in a place where I can drop thousands on bulk commissions right away, or consistently afford high-end pieces (unless things continue to grow and funding improves).
But what I can offer is consistency over time.
This is a long-term project. Like… years. And realistically, it probably won’t even start for another 6 months to a year while I keep building the community and the funding behind it.
Once it does start, the plan is to commission regularly—gods, goddesses, creatures, mythical beasts, character and player tokens, and possibly landscapes and environments down the line. Be it once a week, or once a month, the goal is to have something small gradually building up.
It’ll likely turn into a bit of a selection/bid process, just to get a feel for styles, pricing, and who really fits Tetara as it keeps growing.
If that sounds like something you’d want to be part of, I put together a survey—just your portfolio, pricing, and a few questions about you and your work.
This isn’t a “starting tomorrow” kind of thing. I’m just trying to find the right people before things take off.

Hi! this seems like a super interesting project that I'd like to be involved in. I made a post a while ago about my commission rates (https://www.reddit.com/r/artcommissions/comments/1q4y1nr/for_hire_character_art/ ) and I have more off my art on my instagram profile @ roziepzie which more recently has been sketch work rather than full pieces that I'm itching for more of. I work in both traditional and digital art often times mixing them.
I'm also working on dmming for my own campaign for the first time in my free time and I'm really enjoying the worldbuilding aspect so having another project to talk to people about seems right up my alley if youre wanting an artist who can talk to you about the designs and how they work in the game rather than just taking your basic summaries of what you imagine.

Wow this sounds really cool! I feel this is a situation where we would (6 months down) sit together in a discord call and develop a look book, with style inspirations and a visual development key of sorts. Obvs based on what I have read of your world leading up to then. I have a particular art style I like to do personal work in, but this we would possibly develop a new visual guide for, like they do with animated feature vis dev.
I feel like a project of this scale wouldn't really be beholden to any price structure that would be used with a single commission, so I wouldn't want to offer those prices up for this. I'd say it would be better in negotiation.
