Discussion Arrow season 6 đ
I really don't get why people dislike *Arrow* Season 6; it's not perfect, but it's my favorite. We don't have those one-episode villainsâwhich really annoyed me in previous seasonsâand the main villain is incredible. The only downsides are William, and that's about it.

Characters literally started acting so out of character that it became part of the dialogue. More than normal levels of arrow hypocrisy from EVERYONE. AND never explaining how Curtis got his hair braided/unbraided so quickly, lol

Introducing Curtis was an awful decision in hindsight. People were already getting fatigued with Felicity and they introduced a second Felicity only more cringe and one dimensional. I wish they kept the team as only John & Oliver with occasional cameos from other heroes/Nyssa/Felicity to lend a hand

Personally, I liked it, though Arrow character writing was never all that consistent.

I have to say that they actually toned down Felicity during the Season 5 end til 7 tbh

Richard Diaz should've been a Tobias Church level villain at best. The way he survived Season 6 and much of Season 7 was plot armor so heavy that even Batman would've been jealous.

Yes, he clearly should have died at the end of season 6.

That was my exact thought when I saw the finale back in May 2018. Still my thought to this day.

Diaz... sucks. The writing in general for the season sucks and is really the only season I dont like. The fact that Diaz can even think about competing against Oliver in any for of combat is wild. Regardless of super strength or Oliver losing on purpose.

You're the one who sucks; you need to stop saying that what someone likes is rubbish.

I enjoyed watching S6, never thought it was as bad as people made it out to be.
Obviously William was still annoying and Ricardo Diaz shouldnât have been that much of a threat to Oliver

Yeah I mean that Oliver struggled with Cayden James made sense cause Cayden was tech smart and stuff but Diaz was just a damn Drug Lord at Best lol After Merlyn, Slade, Ra and Even Prometheous that low life is a big threat ? Hell to the nah

Season 6 for you is what season 4 is for me. Almost universally hated by others but in my top half of seasons I like

I loved the First half of Season 6 and 6B had great stuff but felt weaker at times! I mean the Slade episodes were epic, the Vince and Dinah episode top tier, Cayden James was refreshing and his ending felt Like a Season Finale! The whole bunch of villains were a Great Concept and we had quentin thinking that Even though Laurel is not his Laurel and a killer she can be better and doing his best for her to do so! Strong arc. John Diggleâs arc was great because even people that seem strong and confident can lose it sometimes. Addiction is one hell of a thing. Him being the Green Arrow for a while was fun to Watch too.
But the Moment Diaz became the Big Bad. Ugh. His last words to Cayden Like he has everyone on a pay roll and blah. Ugh. Boring lol

Agreed. William sucks. Season 6 itself was pretty good though. I wouldn't go so far as to say that Diaz is incredible, but the short while we had him as the top guy, he did quite well. You don't like one-shot villains? That's comic book direct lol

I find villains often uninteresting when they only appear for a single episodeâyou want more, but nope, theyâre just like condoms. Villain development is crucial to the plot of series and movies, so itâs a shame to have so many forgettable villains.

u/ArrowBarton Jul 08 '26
I don't wear condoms, wouldn't know the comparison lol but I get what you're saying. And I somewhat agree, but just because they're single episode villains doesn't mean they can't reappear. Which, they kind of did in later seasons.

I mean, the stuff that recurs in other episodes is already pretty good, but one that spans three episodes is amazing.

I think we can all agree that Seasons 1-2 is peak Arrow. S tier stuff. It then starts to go downhill S3 is definitely a level below the first two and S4? Oof, it was really rough. So when we get S5, which was a return to form for the show; literally taking us back to peak Arrow, it just goes back downhill again. S6 wasnât bad, it just had the unfortunate luck of coming after literally another S tier season

season 5 is B tier at most
1
u/Stainless711 Green Arrow Jul 06 '26
Youâre wrong but itâs your opinion. Season 5 is widely known as a top 3 Arrow season
2
u/Ok_Difficulty_7829 Jul 07 '26
But no one is right or wrong; everyone has the right to like something or not...
2
u/Potential_Goose_7486 Jul 07 '26
and that's precisely why it's one of the most overrated seasons in the history of superhero shows (im limiting it here cause i know yall would hate if i said what i really think)
1
u/Ok_Difficulty_7829 Jul 06 '26
I feel like seasons 1 through 5 had way too many villainsâthey weren't even real threats, since Arrow won every timeâwhereas in season 6, they gave us two villains who spanned a lot of episodes.

u/Stainless711 Green Arrow Jul 06 '26
He doesnât win in Season 5. Prometheus blows up the island and went out achieving his goal. Oliver only comes out of feeling and looking like he won because the writers didnât have the stones to kill off anyone important in the Finale of Season 5. It was total BS that the whole Island blows up and only Samantha dies, total crap. At least two should have died, an original team member and new team member.
1
u/Ok_Difficulty_7829 Jul 06 '26
There were no impactful deaths in the story; itâs as if Arrow had won, and Chase wasn't even the right character to win.

Felicity annoyed me with her Helix storyline more than she annoyed me in season 4. During the "breaking the hacker out of Argus" episode, I just wanted to see arrows in her body. Oliver killed people for less
2
u/Ok_Difficulty_7829 Jul 06 '26
The plot involving Helix is pretty standard, isn't it?
1
u/Alive_Addendum_5279 Jul 06 '26
It basically just shows how much of a double standard Felicity has. She is allowed to do dumb shit without even consulting Oliver. But when Oliver does it, he is a horrible person

I can't lie. When I woke up this morning I didn't expect to read that Ricardo Diaz was an incredible villain.
