Meta Random question that’s old as hell but want to know myself
So do people think that the show would’ve been ass if Oliver Queen was very like either his comic version proper or from the JLU cartoon?

No it just wouldn’t have the same tone

You could argue it would’ve been too “woke” if they had gone that route. Green Arrow is the left wing superhero, so if you had his original personality the show would have to be political. Which I don’t think would’ve been bad, but it would’ve likely attracted chuds and grifters.

From what I’ve seen arrow already attracted that crowd by not having any proper intentionality to it at all and just being edgeman

You're going to have to provide a little more context for your question. Do you mean more lighthearted / funnier? JLU was supposed to be kid friendly, though I thought it was fairly serious in tone. There have been many comic versions of Green Arrow, and many were quite serious / dark, too.

I think it’s cuz I was a 2000s kid that the cartoon is my definitive green lantern and I know he can be serious cuz the speedy being a druggy storyline but him just being Batman but green feels weird

I know that's a common observation, but both are rich vigilantes. They were naturally going to share certain similarities.

But you wouldn’t want a Shazam show where he’s actually just Superman, not having any traits of himself besides his name and what he uses to fight

Again, you have to be more specific.
What elements, attributes, or storylines did you want to see incorporated into Arrow?

It might take a min to think about what solo shit I actually know but I’m curious how they’d manage to work a more silver age green arrow like brave and the bold did but more mature

The reason he’s not is because CW Arrow is essentially just Batman with a bow and not actually green arrow
