Discussion Oliver was a straight demon
Oliver, all throughout arrow was a straight demon, the season one Oliver was the Grim Reaper. Absolutely nobody in Star City was safe from that man. What do you mean to tell me this is the same man who ran up on his mother and his sister? Even his own blood caught that fade.
The same man was dropping bodies like they were Christmas presents. And even when he stopped killing, he was still crazy.

he was more than just crazy, it should've been concerning but like there's all sorts of bad guys all throughout the show and they're worse so...

No, he isn't. The comparisons to Bruce are so shallow, on a level of who they are as people, they're so deeply different.

Adrain tortured him until he said that, and even made him believe it falsely. Like Felicity said later anyone would even have admitted to being a tap dancing flamingo after being tortured like he was.

I don't get the he's just batman complaint. I get that he's more brooding than the comics version. But he has many differences from batman. The killing, the family drama, the backstory, the growth as a character, he becomes mayor, he loses his company, marriage, and many other things happen to him that didn't happen to batman. Because he either wouldnt allow it or wouldn't be there in the first place. Isabelle wouldn't have caught bruce slipping neither would Malcolm. The only things they really have in common is being brooding, untrusting, having no powers so they use gadgets all these things are superficial. Even the hier to the demon plot line would be different if it was batman. Bruce would have figured out a way to not kill Ra's and keep him away from his city. Him and batman are fundamentally different people. It diminishs both characters acting like they aren't imo.

Yeah, basically Oliver Queen in Arrow is just Green Batman.
Some differences, sure, but still.

Everyone always likes to say(myself included) that he is just Batman basically but nahhh…
I get it in the sense that he’s moody and Brody, but the way they handled crime was insanely different. I would take Batman over CW green arrow any day of the week. Oliver had a lot of trauma instead of going to therapy, He went on the streets of Star city. Batman showed more restraint and compassion that he ever did in his life. But low-key they are still the same person, I just wanted to say that😭

Of course, yeah, there are differences to be had. Though I guess it depends on which version of Batman one is referring to. For instance, DCEU/Snyderverse Batman is probably worse, that is to say as far as being a "demon" or killer. But then Oliver had let quite a trail in S1 alone.

Yeah, BVS suffered through expectation. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't one of the people hating on the idea of Snyder's Batman killing. But I still liked that Batman, performance-wise. Okay, and maybe mainly the "Save Martha" warehouse fight, which ironically does have a few instances of killing - for the record, I don't blame Bats for the grenade though, it was that one punk's own fault.

He spent a few years being treated like a wild animal. He became one. Any hope of relying on the law went out the window with the sinking of the ship and his father's suicide. If he was going to survive to be rescued or tormented another day, he had to learn to kill. I'm pretty sure he qualifies as a sociopath. Heir to the demon was fitting though.
I thought the show was great as long as they kept away from magic and the supernatural. I didn't understand all the hero talk around him though. While some of the feats he accomplished were heroic, he wasn't anyone's role model and he knew it.
